Big news for JTMC! Check out these updates:
* Our website is going to be wonky this weekend as we are making some big updates and additions to it. It will be live and back to normal on Monday morning.
* We are adding two lines of services!
* Training and Education services will provide opportunities for those who are interested in expanding their skills within their roles or interests as they relate to behavior, professional development, and working with people with disabilities!
* Organizational and Corporate Services will seek to work with organizations on a variety of topics that include training/development, case consultation, and even program evaluation/development!
* We are in the process of adding IBHS services back into the York/Adams region! This is a bit of a process, but we're in the works with it! We will be hiring Behavior Consultants and Behavior Health Technicians in the near future!

We are ecstatic to continue to grow and to add onto what we offer to our clients and communities. More things to come, but these are the biggest and most current updates. Follow us closely... a breakdown of our new offerings will be gone over next week!

April is Autism Acceptance Month!

We at J.T. Mummert Consulting LLC would like to extend our gratitude to those individuals with autism, their caregivers, and their teams for teaching us about who they are as unique individuals and how we can individualize our interventions and treatments to support them. As much as we love working with our clients and their supports, believe us when we say that we learn SO MUCH from EVERY individual we support!

We have some exciting news at JTMC!

We are now going to be accepting resumes for our positions on a rolling basis! Send one to us via messenger and as positions open up, we can get an interview scheduled if you qualify! We will get those details posted soon!

We have immediate needs right now at Behavior Health Technician (BHT) in Lock Haven and Williamsport! High school diploma or higher, we pay based on experience and education! This is a GREAT position if you love working with kids and helping them to learn new skills! It’s also a great entry level position for anyone who is interested in education, social work, psychology, or even criminal justice. 20 hours minimum, starting out part time. $16/hr to $20/hr to start!

J.T. Mummert Consulting LLC is HIRING! 🥳

We are looking for SEVERAL part-time Licensed Behavior Consultants to work in the Williamsport and Lock Haven areas for 10-25 hours per week!

These professionals work with kiddos in their homes, schools, and communities to treat problem behaviors and to introduce or improve upon adaptive and effective skills. The position requires an organized clinician who is great at working in teams and has a desire to promote positive behavior approaches. A very rewarding career indeed!

A Licensed Behavior Consultant must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, ABA, or a related degree in addition to a Behavior Specialist LIcense. Preferred candidates could have the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Licensed Behavior Consultants conduct assessments on behavior, write treatment plans, train teams on the treatment plans, and implement the plans until discharge. Completion of service notes, reports, and data analysis are also a requirement of the job.

Don't worry - we'll train you on how to do all that!

Starting pay is $40/hour for billable time, and we pay an admin rate as well in addition to travel stipend! Additionally - this is a FANTASTIC position to be introduced into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which is a rapidly growing field that ranges from working with kiddos who have autism to helping corporations to improve upon work performance using ABA! This position is a great introduction to this field!

Additionally, Behavior-Communication Consultants help people who have communication deficits to increase their functional and formal communication so they can live better qualities of life. A very rewarding career indeed!

A Behavior-Communication Consultant must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, ABA, or a related degree. Behavior-Communication Specialists conduct assessments on behavior/communication skills, write treatment plans, train teams on the treatment plans, and implement the plans until discharge. 🚨 SERVICE SPOTLIGHT 🚨
COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST SERVICES!

Another service that J.T. Mummert Consulting LLC provides is called Communication Specialist Services, also through the Adult Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Waivers. This service also helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, but in this service, the goal is to assess and develop a communication system in which the client is able to increase their opportunities to communicate with others in their environments. Just like the Behavior Support Service, there is a process that takes place, which involves:
• Identifying the current mode of communication.
• Conducting an assessment to determine preferred modes of communication.
• Developing a Communication Action Plan (CAP) that outlines how to teach the client to use the new communication system (or to enhance the current one)
• Training team members on the CAP and working with them to implement the plan.

While these components are the primary means of developing a formal communication system, there are other parts to this as well! This may involve testing out communication devices, interviewing all communication partners, and even identifying an interpreter to help with translating sign language! Whatever the system, and in the spirit of AAC Awareness Month, Communication Specialist Services are an important opportunity for our clients to live their lives to the fullest!

🚨SERVICE SPOTLIGHT 🚨
BEHAVIOR SUPPORT SERVICES!

One of the services J.T. Mummert Consulting LLC provides is called Behavior Support Services through the Adult Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Waivers. This particular service helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to use effective and positive replacement behaviors to meet their wants and needs instead of problem behaviors that can negatively impact their lives.

You may be thinking, “What does that involve?” In a nutshell, it involves:
• Identifying a problem behavior and describing what it looks like
• Assessing the problem behavior to find out why it happens
• Developing a Behavior Support Plan (BSP) to treat the problem behavior and to promote replacement behaviors
• Training team members on the BSP and working with them to implement the plan

These are the main components to providing behavior support services. However, there are many more parts to solving this puzzle, including collecting data and collaborating with a variety of team members! The better the team works together, the more successful treatment!

October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication Awareness month!

Did you know that there are some individuals who use other means of communication other than verbally speaking? Some of these include:

- iPad/Tablet Programs
- Sign Language
- Picture Exchange Communication Systems
- 3-D Boards
- And many more!

These strategies help people who are unable to speak verbally to communicate their wants, needs, and even to comment on everyday life!

Let's celebrate all the different ways that we can communicate with one another!

We’re hiring in Lock Haven for a part-time Bachelor’s Level Behavior Consultant to work with a client in their home and community! The candidate will train staff on Behavior Support Plans, work with the client on using coping skills and conflict resolution, and collect data to measure progress. 15-25 hours per week, $26 to start!
