An interesting article about Ireland having organ donation something one would have to opt out of, but many donors and their families seeing the benefits of additional whole body donation, as well as the researchers, students, and educators receiving the donations.

The quotes from the families and those receiving the donations are the most relevant to donation in the US.

Nice article about considerations with deciding to donate body to science. Of note, they mention organ donation for transplants and brain donation with science may or may not occur with some programs. To clarify, AGR encourages organ donation, and will accept organ and eye donation from anywhere, and even musculoskeletal tissue donors are accepted from nearby states to us. Also we can coordinate brain donations or accept after brain donation to another program has occurred!

Renown Gerontologist Louise Aronson says"...hearing loss in old age is associated with functional loss, isolation, family discord, medical miscommunications, depression, anxiety and paranoia." In people with adequate hearing, several of these consequences would be recognized as a risk factor for su***de. Yet in older folks, because hearing loss is so common as to be expected, the link between hearing problems and su***de goes undiagnosed.
