Allow us to reintroduce ourselves - Meet The Team!

Jenna Van Hyning, MT-BC (she/her)
Music Therapist

We love jamming with Jenna! She is a music therapist from Franklin, MA, and she completed her internship at Sing Explore Create to then join us as a full-time employee! Jenna completed her music therapy studies at Westfield State University with minors in Psychology and Spanish.

Throughout her education, she had the opportunity to work with older adults in dementia care, patients in pediatric palliative care, babies and families in family bonding, and children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At Sing Explore Create, Jenna now works with school-aged kids and adults with disabilities most often.

In her free time, Jenna loves crocheting, sewing, reading, playing video games and board games with her family and friends, as well as spending time outside!

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves - Meet The Team!

Madi Grenier, MT-BC (she/her)
Music Therapist

Madi makes a difference! She is a board-certified music therapist from Cumberland, RI. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from Immaculata University, where she is currently enrolled as a graduate student pursuing a dual MA in Music Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked with individuals in many different populations across the lifespan, and during her internship she specialized in music therapy services in clinical mental health with a focus on music therapy and DBT treatment with Substance Use Disorder.

As a therapist, Madi practices from a humanistic and person-centered lens, leaning into psycho-educative resources when appropriate. One of Madi's main goals when working with clients is to create and maintain a safe therapeutic space for individuals to reflect, grow and explore in. She's also passionate about bringing music technology and production software into music therapy sessions and empowering clients to create their own music while working on their goals.

Outside of work, you can expect to find Madi experimenting with music production, crocheting/knitting one of her ongoing projects, curled up reading a good book with her dog at home, trying out new recipes, or exploring new places out in the world!

Join us for a quick "Music Moment" where we share a wellness resource that you can do NOW! For today's installment, we'll guide you through a body scan using music.

Music Moment: Body Scan (length of one song, 3-4 minutes)

Step 1: Choose a song you like and find relaxing, then search for an “instrumental version”. For the best results, try searching piano or guitar instrumental version as this reduces the amount of instruments and gives your brain less to process.

Find a comfortable position: seated with your feet on the floor or lying on your back. Begin playing the music, then close your eyes and begin the body scan either beginning at your feet or your head, whichever feels most natural for you. Slowly move up or down your body, noticing any sensations or feelings along the way. If you finish your body scan before the song is over, use this as an opportunity to take some deep breaths. Try breathing in for 4 beats, hold for 4 beats, exhale for 4 beats. You can use the rhythm and tempo of the music to count!

This is a great reset and check-in for yourself. When the day gets overwhelming or stressful, this is a good time to take a moment to care for yourself and notice what’s going on with YOU. Go to our website/click the link in our bio to sign up for our newsletter and receive more resources! Take care!🎶☀

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves - Meet The Team!

Sara Slusarski, MT-BC (She/Her)
Music Therapist

Some might say that Sara is a shining star! In her music therapy work, she has specialized in hospice and memory care, working with elders throughout the greater Boston area. Since joining the SEC team, she has continued to work in hospice and palliative care, memory care, and has expanded into working with adults with disabilities which she has developed a love for! Sara firmly believes in a person-centered approach, recognizing the unique needs and preferences of each individual as well as honoring personal autonomy. She also has a passion for learning music and common phrases in as many languages as possible to expand clients' access to meaningful interactions in music therapy!

Outside of work, you might find Sara at home hanging out with her corgi Eru, tending to her many plants, crocheting, or baking. On many weekends, she works as a professional musician/singer, MC, and bandleader of a Boston wedding band!

Did you know that you can build playlists in a meaningful way? You can tailor playlists for more effective relaxation, to maximize the benefits of your workout, and to motivate yourself to complete tasks! You can also build playlists as a way to create memories and curate a vibe! Let's try it out together...

What have you been listening to while stuck inside during this blizzard? Our staff has been listening to a wide variety of music including Bad Bunny, 80s hits, and the more relaxed melodies of Jack Johnson, Olivia Dean, and Norah Jones.

Comment your song below and we'll add it to our Blizzard of 2026 playlist! We hope you're staying safe and warm!🎶☃🌨
