🥶 Winter Weather Update | Jan. 23–27
The City of Killeen is preparing for freezing temperatures and possible icy conditions expected from Friday, Jan. 23 through Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Key updates:
• The W.S. Young Bridge will close at 6 p.m. on Friday due to expected conditions.
• Trash collection will continue, though delays are possible Monday and Tuesday.
• Public Works crews and emergency personnel are on standby.
• A warming center will open for those needing a safe, warm place.
📍 Warming Center: Friends in Crisis (412 East Sprott Street)
📅 Opens at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 and remains open continuously through 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27.
City facilities, including City Hall, libraries, recreation centers, and Police Headquarters, are also available for warming during normal business hours.
