Judy Gayle Holden, 62, of Eastbrook, KY entered her Heavenly home and found her eternal peace on Monday February 2, 2026. She was born on November 5, 1963, to the late James “Bill” Roark & Peggy “Pag” Rainey Roark.
Judy worked many jobs throughout her lifetime, including Hardee’s, Comp Care, a long-haul truck driver in which she loves traveling the country, & was currently working for Harlan Community Action Agency until her passing. But her favorite “job” most was being a Mom & Mamaw. She loved her children & grandchildren more than anything in this world.
To know Judy was to love her. She had the biggest heart & she loved & cared so deeply about those who she knew. Even if she didn’t get the same in return, it never dimmed the fire in her heart that she had for loving others.
Judy was an avid animal lover & always made sure to put her animal babies before herself. They were her pride & joy, & she always had a story to tell about her animals to anyone she met, especially stories about her birds. She was a devoted Christian and deeply believed in the Christian Faith.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Clyde Roark. Father of her children, Johnny Holden, & two special pets who she considered her babies, Ozzy & Opie.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three sons, John, Todd, & Josh Holden; two daughters, Polly Johnson & Stacey Shaw. A special daughter in law who she considered a daughter, Samantha Holden. Ten grandkids, Johnny & Jenna Holden, Desmond & Davina Shaw, Gabriel Holden, Cody Hubbard, Aubrey & Maleigha Johnson, Kaylynne Holden, Jaxon Hines. One great grandchild, Aurora Jade Hubbard. One sister, Jackie (Mike) Sizemore and one brother, Ralph Roark. Eight nieces & nephews, Megan (Robbie) Roark-Halcomb, Katelyn Roark, Madison (Anthony) Moore, Toni (Jaydan) Grubb, Landon Sizemore, Hunter, Allen, & Gracie Roark. Seven great nieces & nephews, her mother in law, Leta Holden, and a very special friend, Dorthy Smith, along with a host of other relatives & friends also survive.
On behalf of the family of Judy, we would like to say thank you to everyone who loved & cared for Judy near & far. Especially to Rufus Hendrix Sr. & Rufus Hendrix Jr. for all their help when Judy needed it most and to the Harlan County CAA & all of her wonderful friends she made there.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 1-5PM with funeral services at 5PM at Ages Church of God with Rev. Donnie Harrison officiating. Private burial services will be on Friday at 1PM at Holden Cemetery at Eastbrook, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
On behalf of the staff of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home we would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Judy Holden during their time of bereavement.
