Wisdom!

Years ago, when all four of my kids were home and December felt like an avalanche - concerts, school events, work and the unspoken pressure "to make Christmas magical" - I hit my limit.

I was stretched so thin I didn't feel ANY joy.
And yet I kept trying to manage everything myself because that's what high-achieving women do...right?

One year, exhausted and wiser, I did something different.

I took a roll of wrapping paper, flipped it over, taped it the pantry wall and wrote every single task required for Christmas.

Then I invited my family into the process.
I said: "Put your initials next to anything you want to help with. If no one claims it, it doesn't happen. "

It was a freeing moment!

Not because the list got shorter ...but because I finally practiced something that I wasn't taught in Sunday school.
Asking for help is a spiritual practice.
Asking for help is not weakness.
It is a surrender.
A letting go.
A holy "no" so a sacred "yes" can emerge.

I realized that year that Christmas doesn't require martyrdom.
Letting others help actually creates connection - something we're craving!

So if you are a high achieving woman holding too much this season...
REWRITE THE SCRIPT.
You do not have to carry Christmas alone.
Asking for help is not weakness.
It's wisdom.
It's leadership.
Dare, I say, --it's holy!
