A huge thank you to Criztabel, Amber, Sandra and Delinda for being such wonderful hosts! They provided a delicious lunch for our team, which gave us the perfect opportunity to dive into some important topics.

We spent the afternoon participating in a workshop focused on advance planning and funeral services. These conversations are so vital, they allow our staff to better guide families through difficult decisions with clarity and peace of mind. On April 22, we recognize Earth Day, a time to reflect on the beauty and peace our natural world provides.

In hospice care, we often see how powerful simple moments can be. A breeze through the trees, the warmth of the sun, or the sight of blooming flowers can bring comfort and calm during life’s most meaningful moments.

Today, we honor the role nature plays in healing, reflection, and connection, for our patients, their families, and our community.

A Queen-worthy celebration 👑
Elizabeth Macias, Community Liaison, had the opportunity to join the community in honoring the legacy of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez at the Harlingen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It was a meaningful afternoon filled with music, connection, and shared memories that brought everyone together.
Moments like these reflect the importance of community, culture, and creating spaces where people can come together, celebrate, and feel supported. We’re grateful to be part of events that uplift and connect those we serve.

Your hospice care team is more than a list of roles—it’s a group of people working together to support comfort, dignity, and quality of life every step of the way.
From physicians and nurses managing care, to social workers offering guidance, chaplains providing emotional support, aides assisting with daily needs, and volunteers bringing companionship—each member plays an important part in caring for both the patient and their family.
You are never navigating this alone. There is a team beside you, focused on what matters most.

When a parent’s health changes, families are often left wondering what comes next.

Hospice provides guidance during this time, helping families understand what to expect, how to plan, and how to make informed decisions that align with their loved one’s wishes.

Having that clarity can bring a sense of direction during an otherwise uncertain time.

Stress can affect more than just our mood. Over time, it can impact our health, relationships, and overall quality of life. This month is a reminder to recognize the signs, understand your stressors, and make space for care and balance.

Simple steps can make a meaningful difference:
• Take a few quiet moments each day to breathe and reset
• Stay connected with those who support you
• Prioritize rest and gentle movement
• Practice mindfulness or meditation

Small, consistent actions can help build healthier habits that last beyond the month.

Caring for yourself is not a luxury, it’s essential. Visit the The American Institute of Stress for more information on how you can manage stress and have a happier and more productive life.
