We are so proud to celebrate our very own Dr. Bonnie Villarreal on receiving the 2025 Heritage Award! 🌟
This recognition honors her years of leadership, mentorship, and dedicated service to the Harlingen community.

Dr. Bonnie Villarreal, a proud Harlingen native, has dedicated more than 25 years to caring for her community through her work in dentistry and her active involvement in local service and leadership.
Her many roles include Chairwoman of the City of Harlingen Airport Board, Parks and Recreation Board, and the Greater Chamber of Commerce Board. She also served as President of the Junior League of Harlingen, where she helped create the KidFit community festival, now celebrating 14 years of success.

Beyond her professional and civic commitments, Dr. Bonnie has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Key to the City, the Paul Harris Fellow Award, and the Friends of HAEF Award, and honoree of the Literacy Center of Harlingen Roast, each reflecting her heart for service and community growth.

In her acceptance, Dr. Bonnie shared:
“When we lift others, we all rise together. Every project completed, every student helped, every challenge overcome was done together. That is the true reward.” 💛

We are inspired by her continued dedication to making a lasting difference in Harlingen.
