This mama did her thing.

She trusted her body every step of the way….cracking jokes between waves, shifting positions, and moving with such instinct and power. She leaned all the way in and followed her rhythm, her breath, her baby. I witnessed them work together in such a raw, beautiful, and intentional way. She completely rocked this birth and I am so grateful to have been her midwife ! 🥹🫶🏾❤️

I remember the moment I decided I wanted to be a midwife.

I was in college, taking a class called Childbirth & Culture. I was learning about childbirth practices in different countries and cultures and my mind was blown. I was so used to birth in a hospital setting being the “norm.” Learning about home birth, granny midwives, and natural birth felt like home to me. I knew in that movement that I wanted to be a home birth midwife!

That was almost 4 years ago. Fast forward to now, I’m a doula and a first-semester student midwife. It has been a long journey to get where I am but I’m so excited and most of all grateful to answer this calling on my life. 🤍
