She might not be the loudest voice in the room, but her quiet presence is steady, decisive, and deeply rooted in a genuine desire to serve our patients with excellence and care.

She carries an incredible work ethic, a calm confidence, and a heart for helping people hear better that sets the tone for our office every single day. Whether she’s leading our morning prayers, navigating complex hearing loss cases, managing schedules, or calming anxious patients, she brings a strength that is steady, thoughtful, and incredibly impactful... she's the yang to our proverbial yin (iykyk).

A 5 🌟 review tonight that hit all the feels. 💙 It's feedback like this that makes every single day worth getting up and powering through. Owning a small business is not for the faint of heart... in fact, some days are really, REALLY hard.🤷🏼‍♀️

We don't always get it right, we won't always know everything... and we will certainly refer you out to another provider if needed (there is ALWAYS room for learning, improvement, collaboration, and growth!) But at the end of the day, if we finish our day with our integrity in tact and our hearts focused on genuine, compassionate care, we know that our business will be successful.

Yes, we are a business, and yes, we need to make money to keep our doors open...but your hearing loss is NOT our monopoly. We are not a chain store or franchise, we're not a big box store that can buy older product in bulk, we're certainly not the most expensive, or the cheapest... but what we strive to be - every single day - is exceptional in serving you and your family.

Why this matters:

🧠 The severity of hearing loss raised dementia prevalence significantly (moderate-to-severe hearing loss had ~61% higher dementia prevalence vs normal hearing).

🦻🏼 People using hearing aids in that group showed a lower prevalence of dementia.

💙 Earlier research at Johns Hopkins Medicine found that even mild hearing loss doubled the risk, moderate tripled, severe up to 5-times the risk.

The difference between a bad fit, a better fit, and the best fit 👇🏼🤙🏼👌🏼.

This patient came to us with a list of wants and needs:

🦻🏼 Need: A custom in-the-ear hearing aid that did 🚫 NOT 🚫 go over her ears (to contend with glasses, masks, etc)...

🦻🏼 Wants: Rechargeability 🔋 AND Bluetooth 📱 were also very important, because of dexterity issues and connectivity issues.

😖 the first hearing aid came back obviously way too big, and a terrible fit (we would NEVER leave you like this)... but the manufacturer said we would have to eliminate one of the wants to make a better fit happen. So we eliminated the rechargeable feature, reluctantly.

🫤 the second aid obviously fit MUCH better, but now we're back to batteries - and that's not conducive to dexterity issues or numb nerve endings in fingertips...

🤔 Then Phonak just so happened to release its new Virto customs that COULD include both needs and wants, so we took a chance... annnd...

😃 the result was phenomenal. Sleek, more modern, and as you can see, the size, fit, need AND wants have all been met and so far, our patient is VERY happy!

This process might have taken longer than we normally like to take, but at the end of the day, our goal is to give you exactly what you're needing AND wanting, while making sure we hit all of our service goals as well.

🐾🎧 Happy National Cat Day from Momentum Hearing Aid Services!

Did you know cats are purr-fectly tuned to the world of sound? Here are some fun feline facts that connect your furry friend to your hearing health:

🐱 Super Hearing:
Cats can hear frequencies between 48 Hz and 85,000 Hz — that’s more than three times higher than the upper limit of human hearing (about 20,000 Hz)! It’s how they detect the tiniest squeak of a mouse… or your hearing aid beeping from across the room.

😸 The Science of the “Meow”:
Most cat meows land between 400–6,000 Hz, at am average of around 45 dB in volume, which sits right in the sweet spot of human speech frequencies — no wonder we respond so easily to their cries for attention! (OR why we can't hear them when we have loss around or below 45dB).

👂 Why Cats Love Earwax (and your hearing aids!):
Your cat isn’t being weird — earwax contains natural oils and proteins that smell comfortably familiar to them (and a bit like you). Unfortunately, that same fascination makes hearing aids smell irresistibly interesting.

🦷 Chew Toys Gone Wrong:
To a curious cat, a warm, waxy, battery-powered hearing aid checks all the boxes for a fun chew toy. Keep your hearing aids stored safely in their case — not on the nightstand — to avoid costly “cat-astrophes.”

🐾 Pro Tip:
If your hearing aids ever take a tumble into a cat’s mouth (or paw patrol), bring them in — we’ll clean, check, and test them to make sure everything’s still working purr-fectly! Because as always, we're hear for you.
