January is Glaucoma Awareness Month 👁️💚

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness—and it often has no symptoms until permanent damage is done. That’s why education + early screening + proper treatment are so important.

Quick facts:
Glaucoma = optic nerve damage (the “cable” connecting your eye to your brain). Once damaged, vision can’t be restored.
It often starts with peripheral (side) vision loss, which can go unnoticed.
A dilated eye exam is the only way to detect glaucoma early.
Cannabis + glaucoma (what we know):
THC and CBG may temporarily lower eye pressure (about 3–4 hours)
CBD does not lower eye pressure and may increase it in some cases
Because glaucoma needs 24/7 pressure control, cannabis is not an effective stand-alone treatment
If you have glaucoma:
✅ Never stop prescribed eye drops
✅ Cannabis may be supportive (comfort/sleep/QOL), not curative
✅ Regular eye exams are essential
✅ Decisions should involve your eye doctor

Grateful to be able to serve our community!

Thank you to PA Options for Wellness for their donation. We greatly appreciate their support. They had a department challenge to see which department could collect the most food. While we don't know which department won, they collect about 600 lbs of food. 💙
