Join us in congratulating Lancaster Farming, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most respected agricultural publications, on 70 years of agricultural coverage! 🌽👩‍🌾🚜

“Agriculture in America is a fascinating fusion of tradition and innovation, and Lancaster Farming is an integral part of that industry and culture,” said Stephen Seeber, executive editor of Lancaster Farming.

“Building trust with a dedicated readership over seven decades demonstrates the vital role a newspaper of record plays in its community. This milestone is a proud moment for our team,” Seeber continued.

To mark its 70th anniversary, Lancaster Farming published a 32-page special section in its Nov. 1 print edition. The section highlights the editors who have guided the newsroom, profiles winners of The Farmer’s Choice Award, and includes a look back at the paper’s evolution.

PNA President and CEO Bill Cotter recently met with Wayne Lowman, the new publisher of the Gettysburg Times. Lowman joined the Sample News Group in September, succeeding former publisher Kelly Luvison, who retired.

With a long career that includes several senior leadership roles in the news media industry — most recently as general manager of The Daily Collegian in State College — Lowman discussed the strong potential of the paper’s commercial printing division, as well as his confidence in the advertising sales team and the experienced journalists in the newsroom.

Like many publishers, he continues to face staffing challenges on the editorial side and is also seeking to fill an open advertising position.

Lowman and his wife plan to attend PNA's 100th Anniversary Gala on Nov. 13, and he expressed enthusiasm about supporting PNA’s efforts in the future.

On Nov. 8, The Spirit Newspaper will host its Baby & You Expo at Academy Park High School. “With a grant from the PNA Foundation, we were able to do the critical work that this Expo celebrates,” said Paul Bennett, publisher of Spirit Media Group (Glenolden).

“On behalf of The SPIRIT organization, I thank Bill Cotter and Tanya Henderson, and the entire PNA / PNA Foundation staff, for their ongoing partnership and assistance that helps news organizations like ours further its mission of community service."

This free community event is designed to inform, connect and empower families at every stage of early parenthood, from those planning to start a family to those already raising young children.

With Delaware County experiencing a rising infant mortality rate, the Expo focuses on sharing essential information and resources to help families raise healthy, happy babies.
