Homeland at Home brings Homeland’s quality care and support to patients in the comfort of their own home.
Services include hospice care, home health, home care, and palliative care. It takes a special kind of person to be a part of Hospice and that is why Homeland has built a team of highly trained, compassionate, caring individuals to provide the highest quality of care to its patients and their families.

In honor of Volunteer Month, we’re especially grateful for volunteers like Tom Barry, pictured here, and so many others who bring comfort and care to those who need it most.
Homeland Hospice’s Soup and Casserole program provides patients and their families with delicious homecooked meals to enjoy when navigating difficult times.
For Janice Zaring of Newport, the joy of preparing meals for others has filled her cup in ways she never imagined.
Homeland Center recently marked the conclusion of Passover with a meaningful mini-Seder, bringing residents and community members together in reflection and tradition.
With the participation of our chaplains, Beth El Temple’s Outreach Coordinator, our Jewish residents, and residents of many faiths, the gathering was a beautiful reminder of the importance of inclusivity, shared experiences, and honoring diverse traditions within our community.

Behind every comfortable space at Homeland is a team that treats it like home.
As Housekeeping Supervisor Tara Roland shares, the little details make a meaningful difference for residents and their families each day.
“The same thing I do at home to keep things neat and clean, I do here,” Tara said.
From creating welcoming spaces to being part of a supportive team, Tara’s story reflects the care, pride, and connection that define life at Homeland.
Leading up to Easter, the fun was in full swing at Homeland at Home!
Throughout the week, our staff enjoyed a festive Easter egg hunt filled with special treats, all thanks to our “office bunny,” Sable Griffith. Her thoughtful surprise brought moments of joy, laughter, and a little friendly competition to the team.
Thank you, Sable, for going above and beyond to spread Easter cheer and brighten our days. It’s the little moments like these that make our team—and the work we do—so special.

Love, connection, and peace of mind were at the heart of this year’s Valentine’s Day luncheon a couple months ago at Homeland Center, where residents and their loved ones gathered to share a meaningful afternoon together.
“I got here, and I thought, ‘Oh, my gosh, I can breathe,’” shared Cathy Nelson, reflecting on the comfort she feels knowing her wife is cared for at Homeland.
From festive décor and favorite meals to music and shared memories, the day was a reminder of the reassurance and support Homeland provides to families every day.
Finding space to honor a loved one through creativity can be a gentle step in the healing process. We welcome you to Homeland Hospice’s spring Grief Art event on Saturday, April 18, where you’ll paint a memory pot and plant rosemary in memory and honor of a loved one. Rosemary is traditionally recognized as the herb of remembrance, representing love, reflection, and lasting memory.
This session is open to both men and women. No art experience is needed, and supplies and lunch are included.

Today, we are proud to recognize the physicians who help lead and support care across Homeland.
On National Doctors Day, we extend our sincere gratitude to our Medical Directors, Christian J. Niles, MD, and Greg R. Ehgartner, DO, from Penn State Health. Their compassion, expertise, and steady leadership help ensure every individual we serve receives thoughtful, high-quality care each day.
Please join us in thanking them for the meaningful difference they make in the lives of our residents, patients, and families.

Looking for a job that makes a difference every day?
Homeland HomeCare is seeking caring individuals who want to support older adults in their homes. From companionship to daily support, the work helps bring comfort, dignity, and peace of mind to the people who need it most.
On March 17, we gathered for a truly meaningful evening as we dedicated our new Founders Tribute in the Chapel Hallway — a space created to honor the women, churches and community that shaped Homeland’s beginning.
Nearly 160 years ago, 18 women from nine Harrisburg churches came together with a shared purpose: to care for those most in need. Their compassion and determination laid the foundation for what Homeland is today — a legacy of dignity, community and care that continues to guide us.
During the evening, a special litany of dedication was shared, giving thanks for the founding churches whose ministries helped bring this vision to life. As each was named, we were reminded of the enduring impact of their service — a legacy that continues to live on through the work of Homeland and our community today.
We are grateful to all who joined us to reflect, remember and celebrate this important moment in our history.
Special thanks to those who helped bring this evening to life:
Pine Street Presbyterian Church
Market Square Presbyterian Church
St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral
Grace United Methodist Church Hummelstown PA
Salem United Church of Christ, Harrisburg, Pa.
Zion Lutheran Church, Enola PA
Gamut Theatre Group
Historic Harrisburg Association
Gourmet Grazing
As we look ahead to Homeland’s 160th anniversary, this space will stand as a lasting tribute to the women and churches who forged the way — and a reminder of the mission we continue to carry forward every day.

March is National Social Work Month, a time to recognize the compassion, advocacy, and expertise social workers bring to those they serve.
This year’s theme from the National Association of Social Workers—Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform— highlights the powerful role social workers play in supporting individuals, families, and communities.
At Homeland, our social workers play a vital role in supporting residents, patients and families through life’s transitions. From providing guidance and resources to offering comfort and understanding, their dedication helps ensure every individual feels heard, supported, and cared for.
We are deeply grateful for the difference our social workers make each day — and for the impact social workers have in communities everywhere.

Homeland at Home brings Homeland’s quality care and support to patients in the comfort of their own home. Services include compassionate end-of-life care provided by Homeland Hospice; daily non-medical assistance delivered by Homeland HomeCare; and at-home physician-ordered medical treatment provided by Homeland HomeHealth.
Our proud tradition of exceptional medical care began 150 years ago when Homeland Center (our bricks and mortar facility) opened its doors. Today, Homeland Center is a personal care home and skilled nursing center that provides a variety of services to the aging population of the greater Harrisburg area.
Homeland Hospice helps patients live as fully and comfortably as possible by providing symptom management; care services and therapies; spiritual support; and on-call support. We are the only hospice agency in Central Pennsylvania offering in-home relief to all patient families – because caregivers need care too.
Physician-ordered Homeland HomeHealth medical treatment helps patients heal and recover in the comfort and convenience of their own homes after illness or injury. Our focus promotes healing, recovery and quality of life.
Homeland HomeCare is delivered by our team of certified nursing assistants (personal care aides) who help seniors with companionship, hygiene, meals, transportation and more.
