How soon can you work after blepharoplasty? 👁️💻

Technically: After local anesthesia (upper eyelids), you may resuming a non-physical, virtual role immediately.

Practically: Most patients take 7–14 days off from in-person work. Why? Swelling and bruising.

Note: Lower lids typically take longer to settle than uppers. Plan your Zoom schedule accordingly. 🗓️

A productive week in Park City for the American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting, advancing the art and science of oculoplastic surgery. 🏔️✨

It was valuable to collaborate with colleagues on the latest innovations, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional, tailored results. Beyond technique, I’m bringing back new insights to further elevate the patient experience with intention and care.

Grateful for the balance of professional time and skiing with family & friends! Refreshed, focused, and back in the clinic. 🙌

The best referral you’ll ever get isn’t on a website. 🤫

When patients ask me how to truly vet a blepharoplasty surgeon, I tell them to look past the before-and-afters for a second. If you want the inside scoop on who has the best hands, ask an Anesthesiologist or your Primary Care Physician.

Here’s why:
1. Anesthesiologists are the ultimate fly-on-the-wall. They sit at the head of the bed for every case. They know exactly who is meticulous, who handles tissue with the most care, and who runs a safe, tight ship in the OR.

2. PCPs see the “after” that doesn’t make it to Instagram. They’re the ones seeing patients six months or two years later. They know which surgeons’ patients are consistently thrilled and which ones are dealing with complications.

Social media is a great portfolio, but a referral from the people who see the work in the trenches? That’s gold.

If a surgeon has to make you feel worse about yourself to sell you a procedure…that’s your biggest red flag. 🚩

A good consultation should feel empowering, educational, and honest (not shame-based!)

You deserve practitioners who respect your goals, your confidence, and your autonomy…not ones who create insecurity to make a sale.

Choose education over pressure. Choose a surgeon who protects your confidence, not profits from your doubts. 🤍

🚨 This is the part no one tells you about filler, but everyone should know.

Most people have no idea that certain facial arteries connect directly to the eyes, and that’s why filler in the wrong area can impact vision. Understanding this anatomy is what keeps treatments safe and results natural.

This is why choosing an experienced, anatomy-focused injector matters more than anything else. 👁️👇

There are areas that should never be injected with filler, and the glabella (between the brows) and nose are at the top of that list.

These regions contain critical blood vessels that communicate directly with the eyes. A misplaced injection here can cause serious and irreversible complications, including vision loss.

As an oculoplastic surgeon, I see the aftermath of filler placed in high-risk zones. The safest results come from deep anatomical knowledge, precision, and restraint. Knowing when not to inject is just as important as knowing how.

🚨When choosing an injector, expertise and safety should never be optional.

Many people have misconceptions about the delicate anatomy around the eyes. As a board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon, I see firsthand the difference between what creams, fillers, or non-surgical treatments can achieve, and what truly requires surgical precision.

From under-eye bags and dark circles to eyelid laxity and festoons, every patient’s anatomy is unique. Understanding these nuances is essential for achieving natural, long-lasting results.

If you’ve been told “just use an eye cream” or “a little filler will fix it,” it may be time to consult a specialist who focuses exclusively on the eyes.
