Tree of Life Healing Arts is a holistic wellness practice founded in 2010 and specializes in therapeutic massage working with families navigating through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. The practitioners are husband-wife duo Danielle and Mike Murphy, both Licensed Massage Therapists. We offer services at our Harrison office located within the clinical practice of Phelps Midwifery. In-home massage services are also available throughout Westchester County. Danielle supports clients additionally one-on-one with classes including Infant Massage, Childbirth Preparation, Newborn Care, and Lactation Basics as well as Lactation Counseling. Complementing these services, Mike also offers assisted stretching, tension relief via the Hypervolt massage gun and far-infrared therapy via the Richway Biomat. Our promise is to support you with compassion, care, and respect—every step of the way. Birth doulas are trained professionals who offer continuous physical, emotional and educational support for mothers, support friends/family, and partners throughout the labor and birth process. Women who have continual uninterrupted support from a labor support professional have fewer requests for medications, half the number of cesarean births, higher breastfeeding rates and an overall higher satisfaction for the entire birth experience. This is for all the new parents-to-be! Are you are expecting a sweet baby in the next few weeks or months! It is never too soon to learn nurturing techniques to care for and soothe baby! In our Newborn Care workshop you will step into a welcoming and judgment-free community of other new parents and learn all about the basics of newborn care. We will discuss the importance of skin-to-skin, normal newborn characteristics and behavior. We will also discuss newborn soothing techniques including infant massage, types of baby holds and swaddles, and babywearing. We will cover changing diapers, normal stool/wet diaper patterns and frequency. We will also cover baby skin care including, cord care, bathing and identifying common newborn skin characteristics.
