Remembering Our Beloved Residents

Family members, residents and staff gathered last week for VMRC's Annual All Saints Memorial Service. In this worship service, our community remembered all residents who passed during the last year while giving thanks to God for His grace and mercy. Each name was read aloud as a candle was lit in loving memory.

We honor their courage and hope for a world where peace and compassion prevail.

On this Veterans Day, we renew our commitment to be people of peace — working toward a world where every life is valued and conflict gives way to reconciliation.

A Day Trip? "Yes please," said VMRC residents.

Independent Living residents had a wonderful trip to Showalter’s Orchard in Timberville, VA, where we browsed the shop, sampled delicious apples and sweet treats, and soaked in the warm greenhouse views of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley on a chilly day. The outing was made even better by the great company and a scenic ride back to VMRC, complete with fascinating historical facts about the area —thanks to our excellent driver, David!

As we step into November — Alzheimer’s Awareness Month — we’re reflecting with gratitude on all who helped make this year’s local Walk to End Alzheimer's - Harrisonburg such a meaningful event! A special shoutout to the 20 amazing ladies from Sigma Kappa at JMU who volunteered their time and energy at the Walk to help our Crestwood residents take part this year — your kindness and enthusiasm made the day even brighter!

Whether you walked beside us, wore purple on Fridays here on Campus, donated, or cheered us on from afar, your spirit and compassion truly shine. VMRC was proud to sponsor and participate in this year's walk, standing together with our residents, team members, families, and community in support of those affected by Alzheimer’s.

Every purple shirt, every step, and every act of kindness brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. 💜
