Sis
are you ready to stop guessing and actually understand your body?

Because feeling off, burnt out, and hormonally all over the place is not your baseline, it’s a sign you were never taught how to support yourself.

This month’s Women’s Sunday Service is for the woman who is done outsourcing her healing and ready to take charge of how she feels.

We’re diving into:
🌀Your cycle + hormones
🧠 Your nervous system
🌿 Herbal support that actually works

And yes, you’ll be creating YOUR OWN custom tea blend to take home, based on your body, your symptoms, and what you actually need.

This is not surface-level wellness.
This is education, embodiment, and real support.

We’re not asking for healing anymore.
We’re learning our bodies and taking responsibility.
No more guessing. No more handing our power over.

If you’re ready to actually support your body, this space is for you.

I don’t talk about this often, but it shaped everything about the way I practice today.

In my early years of birth work, we were hazed.
Overworked.
Exhausted.
Told that the level of sacrifice determined whether we were “worthy” of this path.

And that’s how
during a finals week of college, after staying up all night studying, taking a final, heading into another birth, being awake for nearly 48 hours and driving home on fumes to go sit for another final
I fell asleep at the wheel and flipped my car six times.

Six.
Times.

I survived, but that moment became my awakening:
Your life is not the offering. Your exhaustion is not your rite of passage.

Yes, birth work requires devotion.
Yes, we show up at odd hours, in storms, in traffic, in intensity.
But sleep deprivation is not part of the calling.

This is for every doula, midwife, student, apprentice, birth worker reading this:

Speak to your clients.
If you need an hour or two to sleep before continuing care, honor that.

Normalize rest as a safety measure.
You cannot support someone else’s life if you’re risking your own.

Stop upholding the old paradigm.
The “push through it” culture is harmful, outdated, and unnecessary.

Being committed is beautiful.
Being devoted is sacred.
Being reckless with your health is not required, ever.

Let my story be a reminder:
Don’t let this be you. Rest. Restore. And protect yourself while you protect others.

Please stop with the fear mongering.
Not every woman who works with plants is casting spells in the dark.
Some of us are simply remembering what our grandmothers never stopped knowing.

The body speaks.
The earth speaks.
The womb speaks.
None of this is new. None of this is dangerous.
It’s only dangerous to a world that forgot how to listen.

Yes, there are people who twist power.
There always have been.
But the medicine I carry is not for harm.
It’s for continuation.
For breath.
For the babies who come through the veil.
For the mothers who are held as they cross thresholds.
For the lineage that refuses to fade.

This work is not aesthetic.
It is not a trend.
It is inheritance.

If you don’t understand it yet, that’s ok.
Just don’t label what you fear.
Some of us are here to restore what was almost lost.

Fall is cute or whatever
but let’s be real, it’s more than pumpkin spice lattes
Our skin, spirits, and minerals are begging for attention.
Hydration didn’t end with summer, we’re just doing it in sweaters now.

So here’s my Autumn Womb Mami Tea, cozy, mineral-rich and wom loving.
Because hydration season doesn’t end when summer does.

She’s warm, grounding, a little spicy & honestly the only reason I’m tolerating fall right now.

This tea is made with nettle, hibiscus, marshmallow root, rose, raspberry leaf, orange zest, ginger, cinnamon, dehydrated apple, coconut water and a pinch of Celtic sea salt
.because your body deserves minerals, not just vibes.

May this season find you warm, nourished, listening to your body, your rhythm and what you actually need.

Con mucho amor, L

I stepped into her home and felt it immediately, the vortex of birth. The air was alive, charged with something ancient and holy.

She didn’t need hands on her. She didn’t need questions or coaching. She needed space.. raw, wild, undisturbed.

And here’s the truth most people don’t say: even us midwives, doulas, can become the intervention. The hovering, the asking, the “support” that pulls her out of the trance, out of the portal she fought to create. Every question pulls her back to her thinking brain. Every glance reminds her she’s being watched.

Even in silence, I felt it.  My presence like a ripple on still water. It felt like too much. So I pulled the team away, and we hid in another room, whispering like guests outside a sacred temple.

Time went on. After a while my spirit said: “go listen”. I pressed my ear to the door, I could feeeel her nearness. I knocked gently and slid the door open. As I entered the mamas temple, she was on her hands and knees, facing her husband, eyes fierce, whispering: “She’s coming.” Literal seconds later, with a low, primal roar, her baby slid into the world

This wasn’t just another birth. It was a sermon. A sacred reminder:
Birth needs space.
Birth needs reverence.
Even our gentle help can be a disturbance.

Women deserve this
a chance to birth in the wild rhythm of their own bodies, with guardians close but quiet.

And me? It reminded me how I want to birth one day: with no eyes on me, no one pulling me out of the sacred. Just me, my love, and the hum of life between worlds. 🌀

Thank you for trusting & allowing me to witness you again. repeate families always feel soul special. But this was different. Your journey was a sacred reminder. I love you deeply mama.

One of the most common questions I get around home birth is: “But what about the other children?”⠀

There’s this fear that birth might be too much for little ones, that it could scare or scar them. But in all my years attending births in living rooms, bedrooms, and candlelit spaces, I’ve never seen a child traumatized by life entering the world.⠀

Children remember the portal more than we do. They were just there.⠀

I recently supported a stunning home birth where the family’s young daughter wasn’t just present, she was part of the circle. She helped measure mama’s belly, listened to baby’s heartbeat, learned how to use her own little stethoscope. She had tasks, purpose, power.⠀

She also witnessed something just as profound: her mother being loved, held, and honored by a full birth team. A doula/pelvic floor therapist, grandmothers, sisters, and friends. Women gathered in devotion. That’s not just a memory, it’s a seed. One that whispers, “This is what it looks like when women are cared for through life’s thresholds.”⠀

Let’s stop assuming our children are too fragile for birth. They deserve to see it as sacred, not scary. As ceremony, not crisis. And when they do
something ancient is remembered. In them. In us.⠀

đŸŒčTo this mama, thank you for your trust, your wisdom, your warrior heart. You’re the kind of woman who shifts worlds. Deep gratitude for letting me share this glimpse into your story.

" I did not know who I was as a woman until I began my own personal journey to healing my womb. It is an honor to take part in guiding people into loving themselves, loving their womb and their vaginas. We are all in this together and we are all connected through our womb energy. How people are brought into this world is very important. I believe that conscious decision making surrounding birthing people and the birthing process and all things womb related is essential for the continuation of life itself." - Lauriel Keys, Owner of Awakening Traditions, LLC
