Our yoga practice reaches far beyond the edges of the mat, and any lasting relationship we cultivate in the world must begin with the one we have within.
Explore self compassion through the lens of the Yamas, the five ethical restraints outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (wise use of energy), and Aparigraha (non-attachment). As the first limb of the eightfold path, the Yamas form the foundation of yoga practice, guiding not only how we move through the world, but how we relate to ourselves.
The first half of our time will include discussion, journaling, and moments of quiet personal reflection, allowing space for insight to unfold organically. In the second half, we’ll transition into a nourishing yoga practice, weaving the themes of our conversation into movement and breath. This is a chance to embody self love rather than striving for it.
