❤️ | Hands-Only CPR Challenge ❤️

This February, the Fairfield Health Department is inviting everyone to join a Hands-Only CPR Challenge! The goal is simple: to see how many people we can get to watch a Hands-Only CPR video—whether it’s your first time learning or a quick refresher.

👉 The link below takes you to a short Google Form with embedded CPR videos in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
You’ll be asked just two quick questions:
1️⃣ Is this your first time learning Hands-Only CPR or a refresher?
2️⃣ What town do you live in?

Once you submit the survey, you’ll be able to view the live results and see how many people from your town, region, and overall have participated.

Every view counts, and could help save a life. 💪🫀

We invite you to come by the community center this Sunday, 2/1 from 9:30-11:30am to get your blood pressure checked and chat with our volunteers/ nurses.

As February approaches, it's an extra important time to take care of your cardiovascular health during American Heart Month!

This year we will be hosting our screenings every few months (instead of every month); please see below for more information. This is a great opportunity to not only get your blood pressure checked but also to chat with a nurse about your health. We hope to see you at our next event on Sun, 2/1 from 9:30-11:30 am!!

We are in Newington this week at Newington Senior and Disabled Center. Appointments are still available for pediatric, adult and senior high-dose (ages 65+) flu vaccines. Beacon Prescriptions New Britain will also be administering COVID-19, RSV, Shingles and Pneumococcal (PCV) vaccines. To schedule your appointment, please go to: ccthd.org/flu

The AED can be found in the church crying room. As a reminder, we will be hosting an AED/ CPR training on Sun, 10/26 from 2-4 pm for free and would love for more people to sign-up to attend: https://forms.gle/QPtYEK7bQaHigxRX6 . It's imperative people know how to use an AED for this resource to be helpful to our community. Even if you don't feel comfortable doing CPR, learning how to work an AED can be lifesaving in an emergency!

Sign-up to attend our first 'family & friends' CPR/ AED training in October!

Now that our church has an AED, it's important church members know how to do CPR/ use an AED for this to truly be beneficial to our community. RSVP to attend here (class date: Sun, 10/26 2-4pm in the community center): https://forms.gle/PoWtQ9gUj3a2rh1R7

This class will cover the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. There will be no formal test at the end of this class. A certificate of participation will be provided, but not an official CPR/AED certification. If interested in becoming formally certified in CPR/AED, please visit Heart.org/CPR to find a training near you.

Exciting news: we’ve received our AED in the mail today!!! Thank you to everyone who generously donated, it’s because of you all we were able to purchase an AED for our church! 🙏🏼 It will be installed in the coming weeks and soon we will be offering a CPR/AED training, stay tuned for more updates and a link to sign up if interested in attending the training.

Hi all! We are looking for more donations to be able to finally purchase an AED for the church. Our goal is to do this by the end of the summer before our grant expires. We are so close to reaching our goal 🙏🏼

As many are away this August, we will be canceling our next blood pressure screening that was scheduled for this Sunday, 8/3.

We look forward to resuming our monthly blood pressure screenings in September ☀️.

If you haven’t already, please consider donating to our AED fundraiser!! We are getting closer and closer to our goal (only $400 more is needed) to buy an AED for the church. Thank you again to all who have generously donated so far, your contributions truly make a difference.
