🚨 Big news from CESI! 🚨

On March 20–21, we had the honor of hosting the New England Section of the American Urological Association (NEAUA) right here in Hartford!
This year’s event welcomed 72+ Residents and APPs along with 50+ faculty members for two days of hands‑on learning and collaboration.

🔬 Simulation & Skills Stations Included:
• Two live‑acting clinical scenarios
• Microsurgery
• Ultrasound
• Loupes training

✨ Day Two of Project Shield! ✨

Yesterday marked our second day of this incredible program, designed to provide an immersive experience that helps us better understand what our patients living with dementia may feel every day.

After completing the experience, participants were invited to share one word that captured their emotions — and their responses were truly impactful.

Twice a year, Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Education Simulation and Innovation (CESI) welcomes newly hired international nurses with an immersive program designed to support their transition into U.S. clinical practice.

Through hands-on training, high-fidelity simulations, and structured debriefing, nurses build confidence, refine critical thinking, and strengthen essential skills for safe, high-quality patient care.

This initiative reflects our commitment to education, diversity, and excellence—empowering nurses and improving patient outcomes across our system. 💙

Check this out: The Division of Urogynecology hosted its 12th annual Advanced Urogynecologic Surgery course for fellows in the New England region. Fellows and faculty from 10 different programs attended the course, which is designed and led by Dr. Elena Tunitsky-Bitton. Fellows had the opportunity to learn and practice advanced skills in laparoscopic and vaginal surgery, as well as sacral neuromodulation, Botox injections, urethral bulking, and ureteral stenting.

🎉 Congratulations to the 2025 Clinical Support Team of the Year! 🎉

One of our team members, Robert Lundy was apart of The Postpartum Orange Bracelet Program, which informs providers of the unique needs that women face after giving birth. The bracelet identifies patients who have recently given birth so every clinician, tech, and support staff member is aware that they are at an elevated risk for postpartum complications and also helps prevent misdiagnoses based on those symptoms.

The program rollout began here at Hartford Hospital before continuing to the rest of the Hartford HealthCare system. Rob’s role is to support education in regards to the program by creating an interactive learning module for clinical and support staff.
