🏆 Big congratulations to our teams at MissionCare at Holyoke, Parkville Care Center, Touchpoints at Bloomfield, and Touchpoints at Manchester!

Each of these centers has been honored with the 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

This national recognition celebrates long-term and post-acute care providers who are dedicated to improving the quality of care for residents and patients. The Bronze Award is the first step in AHCA/NCAL’s three-level National Quality Award Program (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), which recognizes excellence and continuous quality improvement across the nation.

ICare Health Network is pleased to announce the selection of Meredith Parda-Burr as Vice President of Human Resources.

Meredith comes to iCare with more than 20 years of progressive human resources leadership experience across healthcare and hospitality. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, HR Business Partners at Benchmark Senior Living, where she led the organization’s HR Business Partner team. Prior to that role, she spent seven years as a Regional Human Resources Business Partner with Benchmark, supporting multiple communities across the senior living portfolio.

In addition to her tenure in senior living, Meredith served as Human Resources Director for Shaner Operating Corporation, a hospitality management company based in State College, PA. Her career reflects a strong emphasis on process improvement, quality initiatives, and fostering employee engagement at all levels.

“Meredith brings tremendous expertise in human resources and a proven record of building engaged, high-performing teams,” said Phil Sterling, Chief Executive Officer of iCare Health Network. “Her leadership will be instrumental in supporting our staff and enhancing the employee experience across the Network.”

🏅 Bronze Quality Award Spotlight! Last week at CAHCF’s Quality Awards ceremony, Parkville Care Center was honored with the AHCA-NCAL Bronze Quality Award. Thank you to Matthew Barrett, Marnie Talamona (CAHCF/CCAL Board), and Dr. David Gifford (AHCA/NCAL CMO) for presenting our award. Huge congrats to Wendy Nugent, Sheniqua Jones, and Natalie Cartagena for representing our team so brilliantly!

We’re thrilled to share that last week, Chris Wright—iCare’s former CEO and now Chairman of the Board—was honored with the CAHCF Lifetime Achievement Award at the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities’ 96th Annual Membership Meeting held at Saybrook Point Resort on July 17, 2025.

With a long-term care career spanning nearly four decades, Chris’s impact has been nothing short of extraordinary. As owner-operator of iCare Health Network—12 skilled nursing facilities across CT, MA, and VT with 1,562 licensed beds—his commitment to quality care shines through our network’s multiple AHCA Silver and Bronze Quality Awards.

Chris has also been a tireless advocate for our industry:

● Two terms on the AHCA Board of Governors (including two as Secretary/Treasurer), now serving his second term as Vice Chair

● Three terms as CAHCF President, two as Immediate Past President, four as Vice Chairman—and continuing on the CAHCF Board of Directors

● Active participant in the AHCA Future Leaders Program and staunch supporter of the AHCA PAC—regularly lending his voice at the Connecticut State Capitol and on Capitol Hill

Spring is in the air! Last year, the Parkville rec team planted a variety of tulip bulbs outside the recreation room window. They have bloomed beautifully this spring with vibrant colors, shapes and sizes!
