Born and raised in Frog Hollow, Dr. Noel Casiano has taken his life’s experiences and psychology expertise to support the people of his community mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — keeping in mind that human connections are vital for a thriving life.
After high school, he enrolled at Central Connecticut State University and over the next several years studied sociology, clinical psychology, and marriage and family therapy with an eye toward helping people from communities like his.
“It is easy to talk about the problems, complain, and judge, but what are you doing about it?” said Noel. “We have to leave the world better than what we experienced ourselves for the kids who come after us. We all have to do our piece.”
In 2017, Noel launched Casiano Clinical Services, LLC to provide behavioral and mental health support to the local community. He currently serves as a professor of psychology and associate dean of student academic services at the University of Hartford.
Noel is a mental health service provider for Charis, an Urban Alliance Hartford initiative. He served on the board of Our Piece of the Pie for seven years, and most recently, he was recognized as part of the 2025 cohort of 100 Men of Color.
