Even mild cases of COVID cause significant, measurable cognitive deficits compared to those never infected with the virus, according to one of the largest studies of its type. COVID brain fog is real, and it can sap up to six IQ points for at least a year.

While statin drugs are good at controlling plaques in blood vessels, they can't eliminate them once they are established. But researchers may have just found a way to blast the circulatory system clean using a common nutrient found in many foods.

The earlier cancer is detected, the better the outcome for the patient. Now, researchers at MIT have developed a new diagnostic system that can be performed as a simple urine test to detect the presence of cancer, and if a positive is returned, a follow-up test can locate where it is in the body.

We hope you, your families and your friends have weathered this pandemic with minimal disturbance.

We closed our office on March 15, as mandated by New York State. During this time, we have been staying home and keeping healthy. A few patients have called asking for help, and we responded as best we could with herbal teas and remote instructions.

Now that New York State is allowing businesses to reopen, we are making plans for how we can safely accomplish this. We have obtained washable coverings for our massage tables, goggles and face masks, to protect ourselves and our patients who wish to come for treatment. We have also ordered UVC lamps and aroma oils for our treatment rooms to kill any viruses. We have instituted procedures recommended by the state and the CDC for safe clinical practices.

During this initial phase of reopening:

• We will be treating one patient at a time and will schedule to allow ample time for disinfecting the room before your appointment.

• Each of you is asked to wait in your car when you arrive to minimize your time in common areas.

• We will call or text you when the previous patient has left and we are ready for you. The intention is that we are the only persons you are in contact with. If you have someone with you, they will be asked to remain in the car or to take a walk. There will be no waiting room during this time.

• Anyone entering our offices will be required to wear a face covering.

if you are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of a virus or you have been recently exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 you must cancel your appointment. We will offer you care remotely, which will help keep our office a safe place for the rest of us.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call.

We're preparing to reopen as soon as possible. We've got UVC lamps, masks, goggles, face shields and washable plastic covers for our tables on order. We are instituting the applicable policies recommended by CDC and NYS Dept. of Health. You'll have to endure paper table covers for the foreseeable future, but at least you can get your treatment.

Meanwhile, please continue to avoid contagions by staying home, wearing a mask, keeping away from others and washing your hands. There's much we still don't know about this virus. For example:

Up to one in six people declared recovered from COVID-19 and discharged from the hospital still test positive for the virus up to three weeks later, meaning they still might be contagious, according to a study in JAMA.
