Did you know general surgeons can help with GERD? GERD can sneak up during the holidays. Big meals, rich foods, and late-night gatherings can all make symptoms worse. A few simple habits can help reduce discomfort:

• Limit alcohol and caffeine, which can trigger reflux
• Avoid peppermint and chocolate, which can relax the LES
• Pace yourself during meals and avoid overeating
• Don’t eat too close to bedtime
• Stay active to support digestion

If GERD symptoms are getting in the way of enjoying the season, a general surgeon can evaluate your symptoms, discuss treatment options, and help you find long-term relief. To learn more or schedule an appointment, visit: https://bit.ly/4odliIB

We know life moves fast, and sometimes your health takes a back seat. But a mammogram could be the most important appointment you keep this year.

Each year, more than 230,000 women in the US are diagnosed with breast cancer. Annual mammograms are a powerful tool for catching breast cancer early, when treatment has the best chance of success. With the latest advances in 3D digital mammography, screenings are faster, clearer, and more comfortable than ever.

If you’ve been meaning to schedule yours, consider this your friendly reminder. Call the Imaging Center at 256-735-5940 to make your appointment today. 🩷
