Today, I want to talk about the importance of self-care. With our busy lives, it's easy to forget to take care of ourselves, but making time for self-care is crucial for our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Self-care can take many forms, from taking a relaxing bath to going for a walk in nature to simply taking a few deep breaths. Whatever self-care looks like to you, it's important to prioritize it and make it a regular part of your routine.

You’re probably thinking: What the hell is yogi tea?

Well let me tell you, it’s great.
Yogi tea is similar to chai tea, with aromatic, spicy and warm flavours. It made the house smell amazing while I was brewing it and it tasted even better!

Like a ton of my yoga practices, I took my yogi tea recipe from Yoga with Adriene because she’s my fave.

Adriene says the yogi tea is very good for digestion, bloat, circulation, the respiratory system, your skin, anti-inflammatory, heartburn and giving you energy. Honestly, what can’t this tea do?!

Wellness doesn’t have to be a luxury. And, there are some trends and practices that actually work. Here are 3 back-to-basics tips you can try today.

1. Get some activity in every day

It can be as simple as taking your dog for a walk or dancing to your favorite songs as you cook dinner.

2. Up your fruit and veggie intake

We all know eating clean is one of the best ways to stay healthy but many of us struggle to. One great way to amp up your intake is to have a smoothie. By adding in some spinach you will up the nutritional value.

3. Get more sleep

When you don’t get enough sleep, your body can’t repair itself. Poor quantity sleep
can lead to heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. Prioritize your rest time and rearrange your schedule to make time for sleep, and implement simple changes like limiting screen time, to make falling asleep easier.

Feeling bored of your workout routine? Sometimes, a small tweak keeps your routine fresh. Supersets can inject some life back into your workouts and get your gains back without requiring you to reinvent your plan, or throw in the towel on the whole shebang. Sounds pretty good, right?

What is a super set?

A super set is just a way to program your workout in which you go from one exercise right into another, with no rest in between. So, instead of doing multiple sets of one move and resting in between each before continuing onto multiple sets of a second, you pair the two exercises together and wait to rest until after you've completed both.

Why are they so good?

First off super sets cut down the amount of time you spend in the gym! Secondly, you will burn more calories because your aren’t resting as much as you normally would. You also will see more gains because of how you are working your muscles!

Are you a glass half-empty or half-full sort of person? Studies have demonstrated that both can impact your physical and mental health and that being a positive thinker is the better of the two.
A study followed 70,000 women from 2004 to 2012 and found these women experienced

* better quality of life
* higher energy levels
* better psychological and physical health
* faster recovery from injury or illness
* fewer colds
* lower rates of depression
* better stress management and coping skills
* longer life span

While positive thinking isn’t magic and it won’t make all of your problems disappear. What it will do is make problems seem more manageable and help you approach hardships in a more positive and productive way.

Fact: Too Little Sleep May Dehydrate You

Yet another reason to prioritize your sleep: Adequate rest may help you stay hydrated. A study published in February 2019 in the journal Sleep found that people who slept six hours each night were more dehydrated than those who regularly slept eight. A potential reason? Scientists point to the disruption of vasopressin, a hormone released at night that helps your body maintain its hydration status. If you feel off after a short night of sleep, make sure to drink plenty of water in the morning before you have your coffee.
