U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Ralph, and Oatie teamed up once again in Chicago on October 25,2025 for Trail to Zero. Last year, Ralph split the ride with a fellow Veteran riding the first 10 of the 20 miles on Oatie. This year, Ralph wanted to complete his own full 20 with Oatie, so he rode the last 10 miles, again sharing a ride with another Veteran. Ralph’s kindness and love for the horses is so special, but we’d love to share with you all about his strength. The day before the ride, Ralph was discharged from the hospital after receiving a chemotherapy treatment as part of his cancer fight, doctor’s release to participate in hand and determined to ride. We knew Oatie would take care of Ralph during this ride and every time we checked in on Ralph, that strength, gratitude for the mission, and happiness filled his words. You’re an inspiration, Ralph! ❤️
