January is Radon Action Month! It is a powerful reminder that protecting our health can start at home.

Radon is a naturally occurring gas that can sometimes accumulate in homes. Because it is odorless and colorless, many residents are unaware that prolonged exposure is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers.

The good news is that radon levels are manageable. Testing your home is a simple, effective way to ensure a healthy environment for your family, especially for children who may spend more time indoors. https://deq.nd.gov/wm/radon/

New year reminder: expired meds don’t belong in your cabinet—or the trash! 🚯

DisposeRx makes it easy to safely neutralize old prescriptions at home, helping protect your family, pets, and community all year long. 💕

DisposeRx is a single use packet containing ingredients on the FDA's inactive ingredient list for oral medications. When mixed with water in the prescription vial, it forms a polymer gel that that chemically and physically traps the active ingredients. 🧪

👉This makes the medication safe for disposal, unusable, and inaccessible for consumption!

💊 We have free DisposeRx packets at both of our locations! 💊

🎉 Hello, January. Hello, fresh starts.

A new year doesn’t have to mean big resolutions or total life overhauls. Sometimes the best changes are the smallest ones—more listening, more patience, more connection.

This year, focus on progress, not perfection.
Look. Listen. Love. 💙

Traveling with your baby this holiday season?

Be sure to create a safe sleep space wherever you go. Always bring a portable crib or bassinet, and make sure baby sleeps on their back, in a clutter free space.

Remind other caregivers of your safe sleep plan.

Here are some heart safety tips from the American Heart Association when it comes to shoveling snow this winter! 🌨☃

❄If you have a heart condition, try to find someone else to shovel snow. Neighbors, look out for those around you.

❄If you must shovel the snow, start slowly. Be sure to pace yourself

❄Cover your mouth and nose and wear layered clothing

❄Push or sweep the snow rather than lifting and throwing it

❄Be extra careful when the wind is blowing

❄If able, use an automated snow blower rather than shoveling

“The movements of snow shoveling are very taxing and demanding on your body and can cause significant increases in your heart rate and blood pressure,” Keith Churchwell, AHA President & clinical professor at Yale, said. “Combined with the fact that the exposure to cold air can constrict blood vessels throughout the body, you’re asking your heart to do a lot more work in conditions that are already diminishing the heart’s ability to function at its best.”

Be Safe and Shovel Smart!
