Gayle Elizabeth Walter Kluttz

Gayle Elizabeth Walter Kluttz, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on January 30, 1945, Gayle lived a life filled with kindness, creativity, and love for her family and community.

Throughout her career, Gayle dedicated many years to nurturing young minds as an assistant pre-school teacher. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, as she embraced retirement after Hurricane Katrina and devoted herself to generously spoiling her grandchildren for the last two decades. Gayle cherished every moment spent with her family, especially during the holidays, when she delighted in having all her grandchildren at home for Christmas. One of her fondest memories was a Thanksgiving vacation shared with her entire family, a cherished time before the passing of her husband, Cecil.

A person of kind heart and welcoming spirit, Gayle had an innate ability to make everyone feel at ease. Her unconditional love for those around her was a hallmark of her personality. Her creative side shone through in her passion for painting, particularly her fondness for frogs. Some of her artwork featured the motto "F.R.O.G. - Fully Rely On God," which resonated deeply with her values. Gayle loved to share her paintings, often giving them as gifts to others, spreading joy through her creativity.

A graduate of Buras High School, Gayle remained active in her community, volunteering with various church organizations and engaging with children through initiatives like Camp Challenge. Camp Challenge is a big part of her family. Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in her unwavering commitment to uplifting those around her.

Gayle is survived by her loving sons, Carl Cecil Kluttz and Charles Ernest Kluttz; her sister, Donna Lynn Walter; daughters-in-laws, Katharine Dupre Kluttz and Jessica Jacob Kluttz; and her adored grandchildren, Braden, Clare, Victoria, Cody, Jonathan, Corynn, Charlea, and Jacob. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 50 years, Cecil M. Kluttz Jr., her mother, Antoinette Marie Armstrong, her father, Charles Cecil Walter, and her brother, Harold Leon Walter, who was only with us for a very short life.

Her presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and artistry will continue to inspire those touched by her life.

Services to celebrate Gayle's life will be held at Harvey - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana, 70058, with visitation on March 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Natalie Nelson Coulon

Born in Lake Charles, LA to Pierre Nelson and Natalie Reon Nelson on August 7, 1924, Natalie was the youngest of seven children. She attended LaGrange High School and McNeese State University before moving to New Orleans to attend Charity Hospital School of Nursing. There she earned her R.N. in the post WWII era. She remained in the New Orleans area where she married and lived the rest of her life.

Natalie was the last of her generation. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Coulon, Sr.; her parents Pierre and Natalie Nelson; her sisters Victoria Nelson Ogea, Marjorie Nelson Ingalls, and Louise Nelson; and brothers Lastie Nelson, Lawrence Nelson, and Clifford Nelson. She is survived by six children: Marilyn Coulon Payton, Jeanette Coulon Petticrew, Stanley Coulon, Jr. and wife Vickie, John Coulon and wife Betty, Mark Coulon and wife Tina, and Nelson Coulon. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Natalie loved the Lord. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse where she sang in the choir and played the guitar. She loved being outside, gardening and crocheting. In her retirement years she learned to play the piano and became quite accomplished at painting beautiful scenes.

Natalie lived life to the fullest. She was a prolific letter writer. She remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversary, and always sent cards. As a Saints fan, she wore the black and gold and cheered them on. She was an enthusiastic Scrabble player and, naturally, she was a great cook.

Natalie loved her family. She welcomed everyone. She read stories to the children at their slumber parties at MaMa’s house. She told her own stories about people from her family and times gone by. She was kind, generous and forgiving. She was a great listener and, if asked, would provide common sense advice. She exemplified the saying “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

Natalie will continue to be remembered and loved by all who knew her as such a beautiful human being. It is our prayer that the Lord Jesus welcomed her into heaven saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Woldenberg Village and the staff of Compassus for the care given to Natalie over the last year of her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to Natalie’s Visitation on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Mothe – Harvey, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA, 70058 from 9:30am to 12:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037 at 1pm, with Interment thereafter at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
