You probably think we’re just wild about winter… and you’d be right! ❄️😜

Come out and play with us at PCCI’s Winter Festival on Saturday, February 21 from 1:00 - 6:00 pm for a FREE, family friendly afternoon packed with winter fun.

Think hiking, ice mining, winter crafts, scavenger hunts, board games, movies, and plenty of time to enjoy the season together. We’ll also have chili, cornbread, and cookies for sale to keep everyone warm and happy.

Curious about honey? Our Executive Director, Virginia Bolshakova will be offering a brief introduction to Honey Sensory Analysis, giving you a taste of how honey connects land, flavor, and stewardship.

A HUGE thank you to our generous sponsor, Commercial Bank , for making this event free and open to all. 💚

Bundle up, bring your people, and celebrate winter the PCCI way — outdoors, together, and full of joy.

Snow and Cold will be the weather for the Hike!
To be prepared for the cold and snow, The Hike Committee is recommending some ideas to make your experience enjoyable.
*Dress according to the weather: hats, neck gaiters, hand and feet warmers, foot gaiters to keep snow out
Of your Boots, layering your clothing. Remember you sweat in Winter, cotton is NOT A GOOD IDEA!
*CND guided hikes can be in all types of weather, use your own judgment to attend.
*Hiking in snow uses more energy, if you normally hike 3 miles, maybe only 1 ½ miles in deeper snow.
*Water and sunblock (on Winter day hikes) are still needed, just like in warmer months.
*Not all parking areas are plowed in the Winter, plan accordingly.
*Ice Cleats or Trax are recommended. They are not very expensive. There can be hidden ice under the snow,
slips and falls are common without them. The sun and usage of the trail can add to the accumulation of ice.
*Hiking Poles are especially useful in distributing your weight and maintaining your helpful balance to prevent falls

Attention Walkers! ❄️

We’re excited to have over a dozen people already signed up for our Wednesday Winter Wellness Walks— and yes, a little relieved it doesn’t start today! 😄

Walkers will head out from Thornapple Plaza right at 10:00 a.m. Tomorrow’s route takes us east to Bliss Park and back for about a 2-mile stroll. Restrooms are available at the Hastings Library and City Hall, but just a heads-up that there are no winter restroom options at the Plaza or Bliss Park.

Bundle up, lace up, and get ready for some fresh air and fun! Feel free to drop in or sign up to make sure you get email updates: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf7xNUApQ-wvQB0h0aSNRzRCnl4FmRQjIL8EchOGnF5-OrkDA/viewform?usp=header
