A simple act of care can leave the greatest impact. For Dr. Oscar deGoa, this impact was felt through a lifelong devotion to both medicine and community.

From 1971 to 2013, Dr. deGoa served on the medical staff at Corewell Health Pennock Hospital welcoming more than 7,000 babies into the Hastings community. Last year, he was recognized with the Compassion Award for his unwavering service.

We are pleased to welcome Jim DeCamp, Amanda Hoeksma, and Luke Haywood to the Corewell Health Pennock Hospital Community Board.

Jim DeCamp (Community Liaison with Flexfab), Amanda Hoeksma (Director of the Early Childhood Center with Thornapple Kellogg Schools), and Luke Haywood (Owner - Sand Creek Dairy) all bring strong leadership experiences and deep commitments to community engagement to the community board.

As Community Board members, they will serve as advisors to hospital leadership and as voices for our community, helping shape our community health plan and guide our efforts to best serve the patients and families who come to us for care.

We are grateful for their willingness to serve and look forward to their contributions.

A proven nursing leader and passionate advocate for patients and nurses, Linda brings more than 23 years of experience within Corewell Health, most recently serving as CNO at Zeeland Hospital.
Under Linda’s leadership, Zeeland Hospital achieved a record 19 consecutive “A” ratings from The Leapfrog Group, a reflection of her focus on quality, safety, and patient experience.

Erin and Garrett Holmes rang in 2026 with the sweetest gift - a beautiful baby girl born on New Year’s Day at Corewell Health Pennock Hospital. Clara Elizabeth weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz and measured 22 inches long, making her Barry County’s very first baby of the year! Join us in congratulating the Holmes family as they start the new year with love, laughter, and a little extra joy. ✨

“What we see probably the most of is orthopedic injuries, injuries to arms and legs; just basic lacerations and things like; some of the more things like drowning; injuries from trampolines and bikes that certainly can be a little more severe,” Dr. Whitney Minnock, the pediatric chief of emergency, said.
