At WPPA we offer Legal Clinics! Free of charge to the community, both at our location and mobile. Including case management, interpretation, and consultation with an immigration attorney. These Clinics aid anyone in need of immigration advice or accompaniment.

We can only offer this to the community because of your support. At this critical moment we ask for your help to continue to give to this initiative.

Thanks for helping us Widen the Welcome! 💫💜✨

The Welcome Project PA is excited to welcome Dr. Lucas F.W. Wilson to lead a presentation and conversation about his book Shame-Sex Attraction, to discuss the harmful effects of conversion therapy, and to learn how to be better informed and supportive of LGBT+ individuals.

This will be a timely discussion, because as of March 31, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court [8-1] overturned Colorado's 2019 law banning conversion therapy for minors, ruling it violated counselors' First Amendment free speech rights.

So join us for this important evening of learning, dialogue, and solidarity.

PAY-AS-YOU-WISH Tickets: in the registration you will have the option to donate. All proceeds from this event will go to support our intersectional work with LGBT+ and Immigrant communities.
Thank you for Widening the Welcome.

The book addresses the global asylum crisis, the failings of the U.S. immigration system, LGBTQ+ persecution in Ghana, and the human cost of borders.

The book was published in 2020 by Melville House and has received attention for bringing a personal, humanizing perspective to the immigration debate.

Today, Tuesday, March 31st, is the International Transgender Day of Visibility.
Every year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. This day is for celebrating the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the disproportionate levels of poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces. TDOV was created in 2010 by trans advocate Rachel Crandall, the head of Transgender Michigan. The goal was to respond to the overwhelming majority of media stories about transgender people being focused on violence. May we all work towards a world in which all people are celebrated for who they are. May we continue to widen the welcome for transgender people, while simultaneously acknowledging that due to discrimination, not every trans person can or wants to be visible.

Today we shine a spotlight on resources for parents of trans students. Thank you to our partner, PFLAG for your commitment to creating materials to curate spaces of belonging.

The Welcome Project PA is part of a coalition of LGBTQIA+
organizations collecting responses for the 2026 PA LGBTQIA+Health Survey.

🗣️We need you to speak up to make sure that the voice of our community is not silenced and is not erased. In a time when data about health, especially LGBTQIA+ health, is being erased from government websites, we need to take any opportunity to make sure we are seen and our story is told. Please take 20 minutes to add your voice to our story.

Our story is powerful – let’s write this one together.
