The cat's out of the bag - EXCITING NEWS for our Center, specifically USM!!! DEFINITELY TO THE TOP!! 💛🖤

The University of Southern Mississippi has launched the Jackson Heart Study Graduate Training & Education Center (GTEC) — a $14.5M investment to train the next generation of cardiovascular and public health researchers.

📣 Why it matters
Mississippi faces some of the greatest cardiovascular health challenges in the U.S. GTEC is more than just a training program — it’s an investment in solving health disparities in our state and beyond.

💡 Each year, 10 graduate students will receive hands-on training in research, mentorship, and community engagement.

Let’s congratulate USM, the College of Nursing & Health Professions, Gulf South Center for Community Engaged Health Research and Innovation, Dr. Jennifer Lemacks, Dr. Felix Twum, and all partners for advancing fairness in healthcare through research.
