Let's make our voices heard!

Claire is beautifully different, and she’s helping others see their power too. In observance of International Women’s Day we are proud to highlight Claire’s story- a powerful example of leadership, advocacy, and creativity from a woman using her voice to inspire others.

As a LIFEPlan CCO member, Claire works and mentors in her community, where she supports others in building confidence and independence.

She’s also the author of “Beautifully Different: Finding My True Self in My Disability”- a children’s book inspired by her own journey of self-acceptance and advocacy.

Her message is simple: Being different is something to celebrate, and we are so proud to spotlight Claire’s impact.

Urge lawmakers to support legislation that would allow trained Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to administer routine medications and related health tasks in non‑facility settings, with strong safeguards in place.

Empowering DSPs in this way can help create a safer, more effective system of care and reduce preventable hospitalizations for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Contact your local elected officials about this legislation and other efforts to strengthen supports for the IDD community. ➡️

Recent federal immigration policy changes may be causing stress and uncertainty for people with developmental disabilities, families, and providers.
