The last joke played on Scott Whitehead, was in Mortuary College.

It seems students have a deadly sense of humor, something long time Professors (most directors themselves) do thier best to discourage!!

But you know there always that one!! Hey,David!!

Gupton-Jones Mortuary College graduated some of the most dedicated directors in the industry and most ,including Scott left with their sense of humor reasonably intact!!

Vietnam War Veterans Day - Today March 29th We Honor Your Service.

The names on this wall are arranged chronologically by date of casualty.

The first names appear in the center of the wall at the top of Panel 1E.

The panels are filled like pages of a journal listing the men and women's names as they fell.

A member of our family, 2ndLt. Robert Willie Waller, is listed among the 58,220 brave men and women on the wall that stands as a reminder of their sacrifice.

We respect and honor those who live next door who returned broken, living with memories that scar their minds.

Those in our communities who bravely fought the battles in Vietnam and continue to fight the battles daily.

We remember and honor all.

Before It's Written In Stone

Password hell! Blood pressure rising.

For the fourth time this month, I've needed to change passwords on several accounts just to see information that truly isn't a major big deal!

But let's talk about passwords: Important ones!
Bank accounts, brokerage accounts, medical accounts, phone accounts, and many more.

If death had occurred last week, would your loved ones have the tools to move forward?

Did you know passwords for all financial, medical, and even Facebook accounts are considered intellectual properties protected by law?

As part of our pre-need planning, we encourage our families to take time to write those passwords, account numbers, along with contacts down, place them in a safe place, and share this information with your attorney or a person you trust. Before its Written Stone.

To this day, I'm not sure why I needed to "protect" an outdated Dollar Tree account!! I walked outside to calm my blood pressure to enjoy a few moments of this beautiful afternoon.
Our first Amaryllis Lily of the season was blooming!! So calming!!

On Call!

" So sorry, we would love to attend, but we are on call this weekend!"Yes, even the owners - every third weekend.

Being on call at our funeral home means from 5:00 pm on Friday until 8:00 am Monday morning, we will answer the phone and be ready to respond to any family who requests our assistance.

Any need will be ours to oversee, including transport, paperwork, appointments, embalming if needed, and follow-up.

Each request, and many others, could be required at any minute of this weekend, often multiple times!

Each of our staff and their families are committed to this schedule, always ready to serve; they are the best!

We are never far from the phone. We have a great off-site answering service when needed.

A suit is always ready, and an extra pair of shoes in the car.

So what do we do if a family doesn't need our services on our weekends?

We try to have a normal life, we fix things, paint, just like your family the laundry must be done and Sir Riley always needs a bath!!

We are an on hands funeral home, ready to serve our neighbors, everyday! We love what we do and want to be there when you need us.
