It’s been a very busy summer and we have some big changes coming for the new year.

Sarah added to her own family a new addition.

We will be taking a break from lactation consults to bond as a family through mid October. We will be back with virtual and home visits later this fall.

We are also transitioning out of our office in Havelock and will announce our new office location in the New Year.

We will have limited availability via email, there may be a few day delay in response time. If you are in need of assistance and struggling for resources please don’t hesitate to call.

If you are in need of a lactation consult Southern Banks Baby in Morehead City has office availability. Jessica with Southern Banks Baby is another amazing resource for families here in ENC.

We are so thankful for all of the families we have worked with so far this year to meet their breastfeeding goals. We can’t wait to start back to it in a few months.

Please be cautious of any “free” lactation class.

You know all those "free" classes offered to you when you order your breast pump? If you read the fine print, it typically says "at no cost to you through insurance" which means they are billing your insurance for each class that you take. Some insurance policies (Aetna is one of them) will only cover 6 lactation support visits, and guess what those classes count towards...yep, your lactation support visits! 😬These companies bill those classes to your insurance and each one counts as a "lactation support" visit. So, if you take all 6 classes prenatally (when you order your pump), you may be left with NO lactation support coverage after your baby arrives! 😫

When you book a prenatal consultation with us and you have one of these policies, we provide personalized education and cover all of those topics AND it only counts as ONE visit, leaving plenty of coverage for postpartum. Prenatal education is SO important, but it should not use up all of your lactation coverage. We recommend contacting your insurance company to see if your policy has these limitations prior to signing up for any online classes through these breast pump providers!

Please share this post with all of your expecting Mama friends so they know this prior to taking those "free" classes. That way they can check their insurance policy and ensure they will still have coverage once their baby arrives! ❤🤱

I cannot put in to words how amazing Heather’s services are for all women.

I say the same things over-and-over again to in my practice… and I get a lot of the same reactions over-and-over again… like:

“Why the heck hasn’t anyone ever told any of us [women] any of this [all things related to pelvic health] before?!”

And… I don’t know. It’s actually kind of amazing how little any of us women are told about how our bodies work. Or our brains for that matter. We’re lucky if we get a good explanation about the whole menstrual cycle stuff…. Most don’t.

So, since I’m saying the same thing over and over-and-over again…I’ve decided I’d like to put a bunch if you ladies in a room together and give you the scoop on what exactly is going on ‘down there’… and I plan to do this in varying themes on a regular basis. Let’s demystify your pelvic health.

I’ll be hosting a Prenatal and Postpartum Pelvic Floor + Core Workshop on my calendar (hopefully) monthly, and I’ve got the first two options live on my site as of today!

Thursday Jan 25 @ 5-7pm (postpartum)
Saturday Feb 3 @ 10am - 12pm (prenatal)

Space is limited. Snag your spot early — or wait until I announce the next round of options. This is the info I want ALL birthing women to have to optimize their health and wellness after baby. No one needs to be confused about what’s going on ‘down there’.
