To celebrate our Activities staff we got them a gift bag and new shirts!!! The residents got a kick out of these shirts too!

🎶🎶Do you wanna build a snow....volcano 🎶🎶

Lisa in activities wanted to get the residents outside for some fresh air so she had the brilliant idea to build a snow volcano and the residents loved watching the foam erupt from the top!!! Fresh air AND entertainment!

To work on activity engagement, last year we did a trip around the United States to locations the residents chose. After attending X amount of activities you were invited to go to the themed party of that location after arriving!

So THIS year, they chose places out of the country! We got them passport book (journals) that we will stamp (we got stamps that represent each location) and they can write what activities we did and food we ate and what they thought! These are souvenirs they will get to keep along with laminated "boarding passes!"

They must attend 15 activities between the dates of each location "travel" dates. We will have food and activities themed around that location for the day! I for one am VERY excited for Greece 😋 🇬🇷 Which of these destinations peeks your interest? Anybody from any of the locations and have suggestions on activities and food?

Our first destination is Italy on 2/28/26!!!

We are getting the dining room ready for Valentine's day! The residents came to join together and make conversation heart garlands! They chose where in the dining room their garland was placed! They had so much fun stringing these together! Afterwards they took the leftover hearts and added them to our beautiful tree of life!!! Enjoy these pictures!

This year, our residents are decorating it to celebrate every holiday. January kicked off with beautiful butterflies, Valentine’s hearts are up next, and clovers will follow for St. Patrick’s Day. 🦋❤️🍀

💙💚 A Space to Recharge, Reflect, and Renew at Haviland Care Center

Taking care of others starts with taking care of ourselves—and thanks to the generous support of our Administrator, Karel, our team at Haviland Care Center now has a dedicated staffing recharge room designed to support emotional wellness, encourage healthy recovery habits, and help prevent burnout during the workday.

This calming space gives our caregivers a moment to pause, breathe, and reset so they can continue showing up with the compassion and excellence our residents deserve.

Before heading back to school, Luis went above and beyond—working 68 hours this week and even picking up extra shifts for two teammates. That kind of dedication and heart for others truly reflects our CARES values in action.

To say "thank you", our admin nurses and administrator, Karel, shared a small token of appreciation and a heartfelt note—because acts of service like this never go unnoticed.

Heaven gained a beautiful soul yesterday. Our long standing faithful employee of 39 years, Kristy Clark passed away suddenly.
