Did you know that sparklers burn at 1,200 degrees—that’s hotter than a blowtorch!
😳
One quick second of fun can turn into a painful memory if you're not careful.
Accidents happen fast—especially on the 4th of July. Whether it’s a grill flare-up, sparkler mishap, or someone getting too close to the fire pit, knowing how to treat a burn can make all the difference.
Here’s your quick guide to burn first aid:
1️⃣ Stop the burning.
Get away from the heat source—fire, fireworks, or hot metal.
2️⃣ Cool it down.
Run cool (not cold) water over the burn for 10–20 minutes.
🚫 Skip the butter, oils, ice, and toothpaste—seriously.
3️⃣ Cover it.
Use a clean, dry cloth or non-stick bandage. Loose is best.
4️⃣ Leave blisters alone.
They’re your body’s natural Band-Aid. Don’t pop them.
5️⃣ Call for help if needed.
📞 Get medical attention if:
– The burn is larger than a palm
– It’s on the face, hands, feet, or ge****ls
– Skin looks charred, white, or leathery
– The person is very young, old, or medically fragile
The best response to an emergency is being ready for it.
