Hello Lakota Family!
I hope this finds you all well and celebrating a wonderful Holiday!

As we head into the New Year, It's important to try to keep a positive mindset. Some of this years events make that difficult, I know. And going into a new year without Doc, makes it even worse. But if I learned anything at all from Dr Singer, It is to never face the ground, and fight to keep going -no matter what. And so that is what I will do, and that is my wish for all of you.

I have not given up on the fate of Lakota either! New years tend to bring new things and events. And, as promised, I will let you all know if any news regarding the practice, comes about. But until then, continue to take good care of your heath, keep your heads up, and let's see what this new year holds!

Wishing you all a Happy and Blessed New Year!

Always,
Cher

Hello Lakota Family and Friends!
Flu season is upon us, and I've been thinking about what might Doc want you all to remember about that. I am pretty sure he would say this....
If you think back to Pandemic times, people were conscious of "germs"- masks were worn, hand washing was constant, distance, or not "getting in someone's face" when talking or waiting on a line became the norm. Though (at that time) we did see covid, we did not see Flu. In fact, not one single case of Flu came through our clinic at that time. So, there is something to be said about the overall caution people were taking in regard to "spreading germs'', and the lack of Flu absolutely reflected that. Now, before you get your feathers ruffled, thinking I'm suggesting you go back to masks full time, relax! I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT!
But I am suggesting you be mindful of that. Protect yourselves and the person standing next to you. Those of you that have had covid, be extra careful because remember- we still do not completely know long term effects of having had covid.
So, if you're a person who gets a yearly Flu Vaccine, then go ahead and do that. Most Pharmacys are already giving them. If you're not, then protect yourself by keeping in mind the caution we all used during the pandemic. And for goodness sake, if you do nothing else, please keep that hand sanitizer around!
I miss seeing you guys, but I continue to keep faith that Lakota will go on, and hope to one day see you all. So please continue to nurture your own health. Keep yourselves as safe as you possibly can from all the nasty viruses out there. And remember, Doc’s up there watching over us all and in my heart, I know, He’d want us to take care of ourselves!

Hello Lakota Friends!

It's been more than a month since we lost Doc and I assume most of you have found new Doctors by now. However, I am still getting a lot of questions in regard to obtaining charts. So, I’m going to do my best to explain what to do.

First, YOU NEED TO FIND A DOCTOR. Once you do, ask them for a records release form. You need to sign that and they will fax that signed form to Lakota. (Fax # 570.226.2208). Once it is received, we will fax or email (whichever they ask for) your charts back to them directly. Right now, that is the only way it can be done. If your first new appointment is weeks out, I suggest you stop into that Dr Office ahead of time and get that form signed. That is the best way to get a jump start.

It is still unclear what will happen in Lakota’s future, But, I am hopeful that we will go on. None of us are giving up but we need to be patient. In the meantime, YOU MUST TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH! In other words: DO NOT WAIT because you think you can hold out for Lakota. There is still way too much unknown for that and Health issues simply do not have a hold button. Remember, good health requires regular maintenance.

I can say this: If there is a turn of events, in any way, that confirm the continued health practice at Lakota- YOU WILL ALL BE INFORMED AT THAT TIME. The Lakota FB page will stay up, so I can keep you all in the loop. Until then, get on track with new Doctors (if you haven't already), and stay on schedule with your meds. Please please please take care of yourselves!

Please know, this has been a painful and exhausting journey without Doc, Especially for Mrs. Singer, Deb (Doc’s sister), and Us (his friends and staff). We get overwhelmed too, so you are not alone during this sad and frustrating transition. We are in this together. But WE WILL BE OK!!

I will be in touch again soon!
Much Love,
Cher

Hello Friends,

I hope this finds you all holding up well and keeping your chins up!
There is still much work to be done at Lakota and we have not given up on that, NOR WILL WE. There are hundreds of calls coming in daily and though we are trying hard to address them all, please understand it is a huge task. BUT- we will not stop until we have addressed your questions to the best of our ability. ALL OF THEM. But this will take patience.

One of the biggest questions we get is in regard to Medical Records. OK, when you find a new Doctor, don't wait for your appointment to sign a records release form. Get that done ahead of time if possible. Once you do that, they will send it to us and we will get them out to the appropriate places. There is a protocol we have to follow when sending out records as they are HIPPA protected and we can not sway from that.

This has been an adjustment for us all- to say the least. It's painful and confusing and even a bit frightening. But we WILL get through it. And I PROMISE - We will continue to keep you updated on changes as they come.

The Lakota Staff really still cares about you all, that has not changed ok? We are still working together to be there for you as best as we can! So hang in there!
