Meet Us Monday: Michael & Susan
Michael and Susan have had a heart for the sanctity of life for many years. They first became involved in the pro-life movement in the late 1970s and have remained committed to supporting life-affirming ministries ever since.
At Open Arms Real Choices Clinic, they serve on the Advancement team, helping with fundraising events. They enjoy supporting the mission by gathering auction donations and volunteering their time at events that help sustain the clinic’s work in our community.
For more than 40 years, Michael and Susan have supported pregnancy centers and participated in peaceful prayer outside abortion clinics. While living in California, they once joined others in prayer through Operation Rescue and were arrested during a demonstration. Moments like this drew national attention to the pro-life movement and strengthened their resolve to stand for the value of every human life.
After raising their five children in California, Michael and Susan moved to North Idaho in 2018. Today they enjoy spending time with their five grandchildren and staying active together. Some of their favorite hobbies include square dancing, hiking, biking, attending concerts, traveling, and being involved in their church. They are especially looking forward to an upcoming trip to visit their son and his family in Croatia.
Believing that every day is a gift, Michael and Susan are passionate about serving the Lord, supporting the ministry of Open Arms, building strong relationships with their family, and standing up for the dignity of every human life.
Volunteers like Michael and Susan make this ministry possible. If you’re interested in using your time and gifts to support the work of Open Arms, we would love to have you attend an upcoming orientation.
