Happy Earth Day 🌎💚

Today we celebrate this beautiful place we call home - the Inland Northwest - and the simple ways we can care for it together. From planting seeds and watching them grow, to getting outside and enjoying nature with our families, every small action makes a difference. 🌱

Tonight, our Teen & Young Adult Connections Group will be celebrating by planting seeds to take home and nurture - because caring for something as it grows is one of the best ways to connect with the world around us. 🌼

At Ds Connections NW, we love creating opportunities for our community to connect - with each other and with the earth. The earth gives us so much… let’s show it a little extra love today.

With love from your Inland NW DSCNW 💙

We are feeling incredibly grateful 💛

Even before the official Idaho Gives campaign begins on May 4th, you - our amazing community - have already helped us raise nearly $5,000.

That kind of early support speaks volumes. It reminds us that we truly have the BEST community - one that shows up, believes in our mission, and makes this work possible every single day.

💙 While we’ve made a strong start, we still have a long way to go to reach our goal.
This comes after $20,896 from our September walk was never released by our payment processor and is now tied up in a legal case.

Because of you, we can continue building connection, providing resources, and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

👉 Keep the momentum going:

👉 Please share this campaign with your friends and family - every share helps us get closer to our goal.

We couldn’t do what we do without you.

From all of us at DS Connections NW—thank you 💛

What would the Inland Northwest look like without nonprofits?

It would still function… but it wouldn’t feel the same.

Without organizations like DS Connections NW, many of the moments that bring connection, support, and belonging to our community would quietly disappear.

New parents receiving a Down syndrome diagnosis might leave the hospital without guidance, resources, or a connection to others who understand.

Families would have fewer opportunities to gather, build friendships, and support one another.

Teens and young adults with Down syndrome would have fewer spaces created just for them—spaces where they are celebrated, included, and empowered.

Medical professionals and educators would have fewer opportunities to learn how to better support individuals with Down syndrome.

And so many families would be left trying to navigate it all on their own.

Nonprofits don’t just provide services—they build community. They create connection. They make sure no one has to walk alone.

At Ds Connections NW, we see every day how powerful that support can be.

And we’re committed to making sure it never disappears. 💛

Our friends at Autism Society of Idaho have a fun event coming up!

The talent show is open for autistics of all ages, all talents and all support needs. This is not a competition. This is a talent show where every participant will be equally recognized for their performance.

Attached is a QR code flyer and a clickable version, both leading to our sign up form.

Event located at: 5073 E 16th Ave, Post Falls, ID 83854
April 25, 2026.

We will be doing a rehearsal so that our performers may familiarize themselves with the space, know what to expect, ask questions, practice and also so we can identify and have time to meet support needs to ensure that the performances go as smoothly as possible and most importantly.... all of our participants have fun.

Before the talent show: 11 am - 1 pm - Free mini photo shoots will be open for walk up sign ups to ALL families & individuals in private spaces separate from the talent show event. (This is open to everyone regardless if you are participating or attending the talent show or not). This is a way for families and autistic individuals to take a few photos in a space away from overstimulation and too many people. We want to make sure families and individuals with autism feel empowered, recognized and included for Autism Acceptance / Awareness month. Photos will be emailed to participants following the event.

Talent show portion: 1 pm - 4 pm - Doors will open at 1 pm for refreshments, mingling, photoshoots, etc. Free mini photo shoots will continue to be available. These after 1 pm photoshoots slots are intended for talent show participants & their families to do before the talent show begins. Non talent show participants should utilize the 11 am - 1 pm walk up photoshoots open to the whole community.
