Definition = medical practice or care that emphasizes the practical application of the findings of the best available current research.

How do we accomplish this?
Our BCEMS clinical team meets bi-monthly to discuss clinically related topics with our Medical Director Dr Ron Jenkins. These topics can range from changing protocols, dropping/adding medications to our current formulary and most importantly making sure we are evolving and changing as prehospital medicine progresses. BCEMS is fortunate to have a progressive Medical Director and clinical group which directly correlates to lives saved in the community we serve!

Our Story

The military term “spearhead” or “tip of the spear” refers to an elite group of highly trained warriors. They break through enemy defenses and clear the way for others. In business, it refers to strong, resilient leaders who blaze a new trail for others to follow. The tip of the spear creates big, daring change.

Our traditional “healthcare” system isn’t working. The current “sickcare” system treats the symptoms of illness, but does little in preventing it or treating the root cause. Patients spend too much money on subpar care, providers are burned out with unsustainable workloads, and insurance companies are more likely to provide obstacles than options.

We believe the traditional healthcare system has become impersonal, expensive, overburdened, and unsustainable. At Spear Direct Care, we’re a team of innovative risk-takers spearheading a new model for healthcare–one that actually works. Sparked by a passion to provide excellent healthcare service and a deeper patient-provider relationship with a vision of simplified healthcare, Spear Direct Care was born.
