2025 what a year. 🤍

• My homebirth with Nora Rylee: powerful, sacred, intense, and beautiful
• Supported five incredible families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
• Attended my very first birth as a birth worker (a milestone I’ll never forget)- which included becoming an AUNTIEE
• Awarded Judge’s Choice + $5,000 at the Hayden Business Pitch Competition
• Began a new partnership with Birthroot Midwifery providing in home postpartum care
• Received all 5-star reviews from the families who trusted me with their care

And somehow, in the middle of all of that…
✨ I started my prenatal & postnatal personal training certification
✨ Juggled three kids at two different schools
✨ Worked two days a week
✨ Continued building a business rooted in informed choice, compassion, and real-life support

Grateful, humbled, and deeply aligned with the work ahead. I’m so proud of all that was accomplished this year in the midst of preparing for our baby and then taking some much needed time off to soak in becoming a family of five.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this year.

I’m beyond excited to see what 2026 has in store for Hannah the Birth Coach.

They handed you a cup of ice chips… but you’re starving.😅

Let’s bust a big myth about labor:
❌ You’re not allowed to eat once you’re admitted to the hospital.

✅ Actually… it depends.

Here’s what you need to know:

The Evidence: Healthy people with low-risk pregnancies can safely consume light food and fluids during labor. Research even shows that oral intake can support energy levels and improve satisfaction.

The Reality: Many hospitals still follow outdated “nothing by mouth” (NPO) policies due to anesthesia concerns, even if you’re not planning a cesarean or epidural. Some hospital will let you eat until you receive an epidural.

The Key: Ask your provider now what their policy is. You have the right to understand, question, and advocate for what’s best for you.

If eating is your preference, think small and energy-boosting:
✔️ Honey sticks
✔️ Coconut water
✔️ Yogurt
✔️ Toast or crackers
✔️ Dates or dried fruit
✔️ Smoothies
✔️ Trail mix
✔️ Electrolyte drinks

Birth is an endurance even… not a fast. 🏃‍♀️💥
Let’s nourish it that way.

What are your favorite labor snacks?!

I’ve supported hands-off home-births and fully-medical high risk inductions. What matters most? You feeling heard.

Where you give birth matters, but what matters most is that you feel safe, supported, and heard. 💛

Whether you’re leaning toward a hospital birth, dreaming of homebirth, or still figuring it out… there are a few key things to keep in mind when choosing your birth setting:

✔️ Safety – Do you feel physically safe and emotionally secure in that space?
✔️ Support – Will your provider and team respect your voice and preferences?
✔️ Access – What comfort measures, interventions, or hands-on support are available?
✔️ Autonomy – Are you encouraged to ask questions and make informed decisions?

As someone who’s experienced it all!
🌿 A peaceful, empowering homebirth
💉 A fully medicalized hospital induction
🤰 And a natural hospital birth with minimal interventions..
I bring a unique lens to birth coaching and support.

No judgment. No agenda. Just guidance from someone who’s walked these roads and helped many others walk theirs.

Your body, your baby, your birth. Let’s make it feel like YOURS. 🤍

👉 Save this if you’re weighing your options.

On April 27th, 2025, at 1:25 AM, our third baby (a surprise gender!) made her swift entrance into the world… right in the comfort of our home. 💕

But Hannah, you work in an OBGYN office; weren’t you scared?”
Absolutely not. Is home birth for everyone? Definitely not. But this was a decision I made intentionally and after lots of reflection, conversations with trusted providers, and a desire to experience something different after two hospital inductions.

My biggest fear? Honestly, that I wouldn’t go into labor on my own 🤣 or that I wouldn’t recognize what non-induced labor even felt like.

Choosing home birth gave me a whole new perspective and it’s expanded how I support and educate moms. From fully medicalized births to hands-off home births, I’ve learned so much, especially from our incredible midwife.

With this new chapter as a mom of three, I’m stepping into fresh inspiration and deeper support for the families I serve through doula work and childbirth education.

Stay tuned 🤍

Yours truly,
Hannah the Birth Coach

What are you supposed to ask your provider when you are trying to establish prenatal care? The options are endless!

Let me give you a could great examples of questions you can ask your provider!

REMEMBER: You may like some providers better than others and that is OKAY!

*What is your stance on interventions such as inductions, episiotomies, and cesarean sections?

*How do you handle questions and concerns that come up between visits?

*What are the policies for birth plans, and how flexible are you in accommodating them?

*How do you handle emergencies or urgent concerns?

*What are the typical outcomes and patient satisfaction rates under your care?

What are some of your top questions that you have asked your providers? How did they respond?

🌷What is Postpartum Depression?

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a type of mood disorder that can affect women after childbirth. It’s more intense and lasts longer than the “baby blues,” which many new mothers experience. PPD can interfere with a mother’s ability to care for her baby and handle other daily tasks.

🌷Why is Postpartum Depression Common?

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of postpartum depression:

1. Hormonal Changes
2. Physical Changes
3. Emotional Adjustments
4. Sleep Deprivation
5. Lack of Support
6. History of Depression

🌷Recognizing the signs and symptoms of PPD is crucial for seeking timely help. These may include:

- Persistent Sadness
- Crying Spells
- Anxiety
- Irritability More Often
- Extreme Fatigue
- Loss of Interest
- Appetite Changes
- Sleep Disturbances
- Difficulty Concentrating
- Feelings of Worthlessness or Guilt
- Withdrawal
- Thoughts of Harm

Having the support and knowledge to navigate the postpartum period is CRUCIAL. Want support? Let’s connect and set you up for success with either postpartum doula services, postpartum coaching, or reviewing your postpartum education part of childbirth Ed.
