This protective canine embodies courage and honesty. Those born in the year of the Dog are considered to be plain-spoken with a strong sense of justice, direct in action, and willing to face challenges head-on. Lukianos wrote the page with contributions by Catherine Yronwode and Papa Newt. Nagasiva Yronwode sourced the images by Nora Achab, Zeffss, BabySofja, and Kjolak; and Catherine edited the text. Catherine and Papa Newt did proofreading and site-wide linking and Nagasiva created this graphic announcement. Check out our outgoing new page on The Dog!

Devised for game-play long before it acquired use in fortune-telling, and featuring other names such as "The Juggler" and "The Mountebank," this tarot card points both to esoteric principles of spiritual correspondence ("As Above, So Below") and to the way in which root doctors give their client encouragement to try spell-craft and magic. Catherine Yronwode wrote the page with contributions by Papa Newt and Nagasiva Yronwode. The card image is by Pamela Colman Smith. Papa Newt did site-wide linking and proofreading, and Nagasiva did proofreading and created this graphic announcement. Check out our arcane yet down-to-earth page on The Magician Tarot Card!

Today the AIRR Tech Team collaborated on a brand new web page about Significator Cards in tarot, Lenormand, playing card, and oracle card readings, explaining many methods for selecting them, assigning meaning to them, and deploying them in various card layouts. If you are a client in search of a reading, this page will open your eyes to what your reader is doing. If you are a beginning reader who is looking to pick up tips to improve your techniques, this page will open your mind to new possibilities. And, yes, even if you are a seasoned professional cartomancer who knows six ways to pick a significator, you will want to see if we covered your favourite method here! Catherine Yronwode wrote the text, Papa Newt proofread it and provided site-wide linking, and Nagasiva Yronwode selected the images, cleaned them up, and created this gorgeous graphic announcement. The Evil Eye!

The AIRR Tech Team opened our inner eyes, curled our fingers into an assortment of esoteric gestures, and donned our apotropaic accoutrements to conjure up a brand new web page on the Evil Eye -- an ancient form of spiritual damage that arises from jealousy, covetousness, and envy. Our magical understanding of the evil eye goes back to the earliest eras of civilization in the Middle East. It is mentioned in ancient Egypt and is warned of in the Bible. Almost every culture on earth recognizes it and has developed ways to prevent it, reverse it, or cure its dire effects. In this new encyclopedia page, you will learn all about Ayin Hara, Mal Occhio, Nazar Boncugu, and The Whammy -- and how you can protect yourself and those you love. Catherine Yronwode and Henri Gamache (Anne Fleitman) wrote the page with contributions by DrJeremy Weiss, Nagasiva Yronwode, and Papa Newt. Nagasiva sourced the photographs and art from Catherine, Miss Michaele, Charles M. Quinlan, and Unknown Photographers, photo-edited by Catherine. Papa Newt did proofreading and site-wide linking and Nagasiva created this graphic announcement. Check out our spectacular new page on the Evil Eye and find an AIRR worker who specializes in anti-evil-eye magic!
