Life is a series of crossroads. As we travel on our individual journeys we will experience challenges, disappointments, and changes. These life-changing experiences can occur within our current relationships, past hurts, traumatic events, occupations, and even from within ourselves. When these challenges occur, life can become unbalanced; bringing confusion and dissatisfaction. When certain aspects of our life feel broken, life can feel as if we are drowning. Often times we just need a little help; some assistance to heal and face these challenges head on. We believe that balance is essential to living life to the fullest. Finding, creating, and maintaining balance in one’s daily routine aides in building and strengthening confidence, enables focus, helps us invest in our relationships, allows us to cope with stress more effectively, and raises our self-esteem. With so much uncertainty surrounding the government shutdown, it’s understandable to feel anxious, frustrated, or on edge. When life feels out of control, small, intentional actions can help bring a sense of calm and stability.

Here are a few ways to ground yourself during stressful times:

🌿 Pause and breathe. Even one minute of slow, deep breathing can help your body relax and reset.

📺 Take news breaks. Stay informed, but give yourself permission to step away from constant updates that heighten anxiety.

💬 Stay connected. Reach out to friends, family, or community members who can listen and offer support.

🗓️ Find structure in small things. Focus on daily routines and small tasks you can complete—it helps create a sense of control.
