π BIG NEWS FOR OUR COMMUNITY! π
Pemiscot Memorial Hospital is now officially designated as a Rural Emergency Hospital (REH)! π₯β¨
After a detailed six-month process, we are proud to share that our hospital has successfully completed the conversion to REH status β a major milestone that protects access to essential healthcare services for Pemiscot County and the entire Bootheel region.
This achievement was made possible through the dedication, coordination, and hard work of so many:
π Thank you to Congressman Jason Smith and his team, and to Missouriβs senators and congressional representatives, for their ongoing support and advocacy for rural healthcare.
π Thank you to the Pemiscot County Commissioners and the Hospital Board for their partnership and leadership during this transition.
π Thank you to our community for your trust, encouragement, and continued support.
π And a special thank-you to our incredible hospital employees. Your patience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to caring for our community made this success possible. Transitioning to an REH required significant changes, and our team rose to every challenge with strength and teamwork.
This designation ensures we will continue providing 24/7 emergency care and essential outpatient services, while strengthening our long-term financial stability. This is a major step forward in protecting healthcare close to home β for today, tomorrow, and generations to come.
On behalf of the entire leadership team, thank you to everyone who supported and believed in this process.
Pemiscot Memorial remains committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to the people we serve. π
