π’ π¨ Hayti Voters β This One Makes Sense π¨
On April 7, 2026, voters in Hayti will decide on a Business License Tax based upon diesel fuel sold within city limits. This will be a $0.02 tax on each gallon of diesel fuel sold.
Letβs be clear:
π This is NOT a gasoline tax.
π This does NOT affect you unless you purchase diesel fuel.
So who actually pays most of this?
π Interstate truck traffic fueling at our truck stops.
Thousands of trucks pass through Hayti every day β and this allows them to help support the community they drive through.
This is new revenue without raising your property taxes.
This is new revenue without raising your sales taxes.
This is new revenue without impacting the average Hayti family.
Small towns everywhere are facing rising costs for:
β’ Police & Fire protection
β’ Streets & infrastructure
β’ Equipment & city services
This proposal lets Hayti generate funding in the smartest and most responsible way possible β by asking out-of-town traffic and diesel fuel purchasers to help carry the load.
Voting YES means:
β Supporting essential city services
β Helping prevent future tax increases on residents
β Bringing outside dollars into our local budget
β Protecting Hayti taxpayers
If you donβt purchase diesel fuel, this costs you nothing.
π³οΈ Vote YES on April 7, 2026.
Letβs make the smart choice for Haytiβs future.
