The true spirit of Christmas was felt throughout Hayward Health Services this past week. Our residents celebrated the holiday surrounded by caring staff, laughter, and meaningful moments. Thanks to the kindness of our team, who picked bulbs from our resident tree to purchase gifts special for our residents, each resident received a special present chosen with love from our staff members. Moments like these remind us that this isn’t just a facility, it’s a family.♥🎄🎁

Hayward Health Services is more than a building, it’s a family.

Today, we are proud to recognize our November "Heroes of our Home:" Peggy Carlson and Elizabeth Laackson.

Peggy has been with us since May 30, 2025. Peggy is often seen with a smile. She is a good example of embracing change and showing strength, even through difficult times and transitions. Peggy is a light in the facility; one who shares her joyful spirit with other residents to lift them up and encourage them along the way. That is what family is all about!

CNA Beth celebrated her one-year anniversary with our team on December 10, 2025. Whether it’s through compassion, resilience, kindness, or dedication, Beth reminds us what it truly means to care for one another. Beth is often seen going the extra mile for our residents, giving them those extra few minutes of personal time or getting their hair just right before breakfast. Beth’s dedication and passion for our “family” does not go unnoticed.

Thank you both for being such important parts of our home. We are grateful for you today and every day!

On Friday, staff and residents gathered to celebrate our Director of Nursing Sherrie, who passed her Director of Nursing Certification Exam.

Sherrie had four days of learning in the past couple of months. She studied areas surrounding budget, implementing evidence-based systems, fostering vital relationships, medication management, empowering through education, documentation/compliance, and quality assurance.

We are excited to see where all of this new knowledge will take Sherrie. Congratulations again!

Hayward Health wants to wish Sandy and Ken Bott a 39th wedding anniversary! 🎉

Ken took his bride out for a lobster dinner this past Sunday to celebrate. The staff at Hayward Health ensured she had her hair styled, ready to step out with her groom, and enjoy each other's company. When you think of marriage, you think of how happy people can be and these two are the best example of happiness. 🙂

Resident Tammy, pictured with Activities Director Kim, was excited to share her enchilada recipe with staff and residents. She even gave a tutorial on how she makes them. All had a great time preparing and sampling both!

For the month of October, we proudly celebrated two shining stars who make our community stronger each day!

Resident: Lucy Dennis

Our resident hero has been with us since July of 2024. Lucy reminds us what resilience, kindness, and laughter looks like. Her strength and overall spirit improve our home and inspire everyone. There are very few days that Lucy is seen without a smile.

Staff: Danika Zivik (Fuller)

Our staff hero has been with us since February of 2025. CNA Danika goes above and beyond, offering compassion, dedication, and overall heart. She is a great advocate for our residents. Danika’s commitment to our residents makes our facility a place of comfort, safety, and provides that feeling of “home.”

Thank you both for being the heart and soul of our home!

Yesterday, we paused to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, sacrifice, and devotion.

We did so with the assistance of the local VFW group. At Hayward Health Services, we are privileged to care for Veterans who continue to inspire us every day with their strength and stories.

We thank all Veterans - past and present - for protecting our freedoms and shaping the future of our nation. Your service will never be forgotten.
