Prevention starts with education 💚

At The Rising Center, we are committed to building safer schools and stronger communities through evidence-informed prevention programming.

In our middle schools, we implement It’s My Space, helping students understand boundaries, respect, healthy relationships, and how to recognize unsafe behaviors. These early conversations empower young people with knowledge and confidence.

In high schools, colleges, and community settings, we bring Green Dot, a nationally recognized bystander intervention strategy that equips individuals with practical tools to safely intervene, reduce violence, and shift harmful norms. Green Dot isn’t just a training, it’s a culture change movement.

From classrooms to campuses to community groups, our prevention team works to create environments where violence is not tolerated and everyone understands their role in keeping each other safe.

If your school, campus, or organization would like to partner with us, reach out. Prevention is possible and it works!

The BEST news!

The BEST news!

Big news for survivors in Kentucky!

HB 521 passed the House Judiciary Committee unanimously this morning.

As KASAP Chief Policy Officer Jenna Cassady shared in committee, this bill is about preventing escalation: “If we’re not intervening at the stalking phase, we’re going to be intervening later when somebody is sexually harmed or physically harmed because their stalker has been allowed to continue that behavior.”

Early intervention matters. HB 521 helps prevent harm before it escalates and reduces the need for more serious prosecution down the line.

Thank you to the House Judiciary Committee for the unanimous vote and to bill sponsor Rep. Steven Rudy for bringing KASAP to the table and for his leadership on this important legislation. We’re proud of Jenna for testifying on behalf of survivors and our member centers across the Commonwealth.

Our center had the cutest visitor today! 💙

Onyx stopped by and completely stole the spotlight. We run on trauma-informed care… but today we also ran on baby smiles. Clearly, we were all smitten. 🥰
