🌸 Maternal Health Awareness Day 🌸

Today, we recognize Maternal Health Awareness Day—a time to uplift, educate, and support mothers and birthing people at every stage of the journey. Maternal health is more than medical care; it includes physical well-being, mental health, emotional support, safety, and access to resources.

💗 Everyday Tips for Maternal Health:

• Keep up with prenatal and postpartum appointments
• Prioritize rest, hydration, and balanced meals
• Pay attention to mental health and mood changes
• Move your body gently, as recommended by your provider
• Ask for help and build a support system
• Speak up—your concerns and experiences matter

❄️ Ice Storm Preparedness for Expecting & New Parents:

Severe winter weather can bring added risks, especially during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Consider these tips:

• Keep an emergency bag ready (medications, prenatal vitamins, medical records, snacks, water, phone charger)
• Have a plan for transportation to a hospital or birthing center
• Stock up on shelf-stable, nutritious foods
• Stay warm and avoid falls—wear supportive shoes and move carefully
• If using alternative heat sources, ensure proper ventilation
• Check in on mental well-being—weather isolation can increase stress and anxiety

✨ Today we honor the strength of mothers, remember those we’ve lost, and recommit to education, advocacy, and compassionate care.

We are over the moon with excitement and gratitude! A HUGE Thank You to the Chester King Burnham Charitable Trust for blessing our organization with generous funding for 2026! Because of this amazing support, PERC will be able to expand perinatal education and strengthen support for our mothers and families right here in Copiah County. This gift helps us reach more moms, provide more resources, and ensure that every family has the care and knowledge they deserve during one of life's most important moments.

Thank you CKB Trust for believing in our mission and investing in healthier beginnings for our community. Your support truly makes a difference, and we can't wait to celebrate the impact together in 2026!
