Almost two weeks have passed since our First Annual Hearts & Diamonds Hospital Foundation Gala, and we are still in awe of the incredible support from our community. ✨

Everything we do is made possible because of YOU. Your generosity and belief in our mission allow us to continue serving, caring, and impacting lives every day at Jeff Davis Hospital.

We were honored to recognize and present the following awards and memorials during this special evening:

Legislator of the Year:
Representative Bill Werkheiser has been a strong advocate and voice for rural hospitals like ours. His continued support and leadership help ensure communities like ours have access to quality healthcare close to home. We are truly honored to have him represent and serve our district.

Nursing Legacy Award:
Ms. Shirley Walters dedicated 50 years of service to Jeff Davis Hospital. For five decades she cared for patients, supported her coworkers, and served this community with compassion and dedication. She truly lived out the heart of our mission—to impact lives through care, service, and commitment to our community. Her legacy will forever be a part of our hospital family.

Dr. Lou Munsayac Memorial Scholarship:
The first recipient of this scholarship was Vincent Ly. This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Dr. Lou Munsayac by supporting future healthcare leaders who share his passion for service and excellence in medicine.

Haley Ray Memorial:
Haley served on our Student Hospital Board and had a remarkable heart for serving others and uplifting those around her. This memorial, which will be displayed in our hospital, will serve as a lasting reminder of Haley’s kindness, compassion, and the light she brought into the lives of so many. May it encourage all of us to be a little more like Haley—choosing kindness, service, and love for our community. 🤍

Wow! We are still speechless at what an amazing night we had last night! Truly, there are not enough “thank yous” to go around for all of our sponsors, our great employees, our amazing community, and everyone who had a part in making this night possible.
